Here's what went down: BTS dropped a short teaser clip for "Idol," a soon-to-be-released track off the K-pop group's 25-song album, "Love Yourself: Answer." The highly-anticipated album drops Friday – which is two days longer than BTS' fan Army was willing to wait so they dug up some answers on their own.
Shortly after the teaser dropped, a fan ran the "Idol" clip through Shazam and made a shocking discovery: Nicki Minaj is supposedly featured on the track.
Several others followed suit and got the same results. However, it didn't take long for things to get confusing as Shazam's results soon began to only list BTS as the artist, not Nicki. Then, the song yielded no results at all.
The possible collaboration isn't totally out of left field, BTS and Minaj first got fans talking when the artists showed each other some Twitter love last week when BTS tweeted about loving her latest album, Queen. Plus, Nicki isn't doing anything to downplay rumors, liking several collaboration-related tweets from fans.
While neither artist has publicly commented on the possible slip-up, their fandoms are losing it.
