The woman suing Bill Cosby for sexual assault claims he is so worried about his criminal case that it's messing with her lawsuit.
According to court documents obtained by The Blast, Chloe Goins — who claims she was assaulted by Cosby at the Playboy Mansion in 2008 — says she needs more time to prepare her case against the disgraced comedian because he has been uncooperative.
Goins says Cosby refuses to be deposed (presumably, she wonders, because he's under house arrest) and has refused to turn over any documents.
She notes that Cosby is currently awaiting sentencing — after being found guilty earlier this year on three counts of aggravated indecent assault — which Goins believes is why Cosby has been stalling her case.
"Defendant Cosby will not be sentenced until September 24-25, 2018, and most likely is refusing to answer the discovery on grounds that it may incriminate him or aggravate his sentencing," Goins claims.
A hearing is scheduled for August for a motion on summary judgment, but Goins is asking the judge for more time as she continues to go after what she needs from Cosby.
The judge has yet to rule and the case is ongoing.
