Aziz Ansari Spotted for the First Time Since Sexual Misconduct Claim

Aziz Ansari walked around the streets of Manhattan on Monday, the first time he’s been seen in public since allegations of sexual misconduct were made against him.

The “Master of None” star donned a dark gray jacket and pants as he talked on the phone in the West Village area.

Ansari has kept a low profile since the allegations first surfaced in January. The woman who anonymously accused Ansari says he aggressively pushed her to perform sexual acts following a date they had last September.

The comedian responded the next day, saying, “We went out to dinner, and afterwards we ended up engaging in sexual activity, which by all indications was completely consensual.”

He continued, “The next day, I got a text from her saying that although ‘it may have seemed okay,’ upon further reflection, she felt uncomfortable. It was true that everything did seem okay to me, so when I heard that it was not the case for her, I was surprised and concerned. I took her words to heart and responded privately after taking the time to process what she had said.”
