Asia Argento has been booted off "X Factor Italy" after allegations she paid a settlement to a former child actor whom she had slept with.
The news was reported Monday morning that Sky Italia and FremantleMedia Italia removed the controversial celebrity from the live portion of the talent show. She will still air in the initial episodes for the season, because those have already been pre-taped.
Producers did not feel it was fair to re-shoot the first part of the season because it would compromise the performances from the thousands of contestants that showed up for auditions.
The news comes days after Argento was accused of paying $380,000 to Jimmy Bennett after an alleged sexual encounter when he was 17-years-old. Argento later revealed that Anthony Bourdain had paid the settlement money, but Bennett was unaware that the payments came form the late TV chef.
She has also denied having a sexual relationship with the former child actor, however leaked photos of the alleged encounter appear to dispute her claims.
Since the news, many have questioned Argento's involvement in the #MeToo movement, including her friend Rose McGowan.
The new season of "X Factor Italy" premieres the first week of September. Argento has not yet commented on the firing.
