“So touched by all of the celebrities posting pictures of themselves with Stan Lee,” Hammer wrote. “[N]o better way to commemorate an absolute legend than putting up a picture of yourself.”
He added, “Posting a selfie makes his death about you and how cool you felt taking a picture with him.”
Hammer engaged in a back-and-forth discussion with several fans and said he appreciated Mark Ruffalo‘s post — which included a photo of Stan Lee with a Hulk figure — saying, “This was an example that stood out and made me think his post was actually about Stan.”
The list of celebrities Armie Hammer presumably has a problem with is quite lengthy. Among the celebrities who posted selfies with Lee included Hugh Jackman, Chris Pratt, Robert Downey Jr., and Mark Hamill.
We’ve lost a creative genius. Stan Lee was a pioneering force in the superhero universe. I’m proud to have been a small part of his legacy and …. to have helped bring one of his characters to life. #StanLee #Wolverine pic.twitter.com/iOdefi7iYz

His contribution to Pop Culture was revolutionary & cannot be overstated. He was everything you hoped he would be & MORE. I loved this man & will never stop missing him. They say you should never meet a childhood idol. They are wrong. #RIPStanTheMan pic.twitter.com/6OKH07ahJg

Thanks for everything Stan Lee! What a life, so well lived. I consider myself extraordinarily lucky to have gotten to meet you and to have played in the world you created.

A sad day for so many of us growing up reading and watching the great @therealstanlee creations. With @Marvel he elevated the comic book with great writing and superheroes who had problems just like us. #excelsior His passing at 95 is sad, but he’s just waiting for us in #asgard pic.twitter.com/3geUPCGh0o
