Ariana Grande dropped her new emotional dance anthem “No Tears Left to Cry” on Friday and performed the instant hit for the first time the same day at Coachella.

Grande took the stage for an enormous desert crowd during the second week of the music festival. Her signature oversized ponytail was an icy blonde to match her two-piece light hued crop top and ruffled skirt.

The performance was powerful and emotional. The toe-tapping dance tune is about picking yourself up and moving on and contains many veiled references to the tragic bombing at her Manchester concert. At a recent listening party for the song, people in the room were brought to tears.

Grande took the stage during Kygo’s set, which he dedicated to Swedish DJ Avicii after he was found dead earlier that day in the Middle East at just 28-years-old.

Nick Jonas also paid tribute to the late DJ that same night. He covered Avicii’s hit with Aloe Blacc, “Wake Me Up.”
