Amy Schumer delighted a crowd of concertgoers Sunday night by showing up unannounced to work on her stand up routine for this week's "Saturday Night Live."
Schumer was in Tarrytown, New York at a concert for her friend, singer and activist Ani DiFranco. Sources at the concert tell The Blast that Ani took the stage before the show and casually addressed the crowd saying, “I have a friend that loves to do standup but she’s new so be nice to her.”
In the video obtained by The Blast, the "I Feel Pretty" star is seen taking the stage and totally fangirling over DiFranco. She even credits some of her success to listening to the musician when she was an angsty teen.
We're told Amy Schumer did a "cheeky" 20-minute routine with a new bit that she's working on for "SNL," which she is slated to host on Saturday. During her set, the newlywed joked about her new marriage and how it meant the end of booty call texts.
Schumer posted an adorable picture on Instagram joking about how she "played it cool" as the opening act for the show.
Sources at the concert tell us Amy, who was there with her sister Kim, was "super friendly and took pictures with everyone backstage, including a few kids."
We're told she even addressed her recent health issues and told people at the show that she's feeling much better. Schumer was recently hospitalized for five days due to a kidney infection.
