Sissy Spacek won an Academy Award for her portrayal of the legendary singer.

In a statement, she called the late singer “a strong and resilient country music pioneer.”

She also called her a “great artist” and a “precious friend.”

Spacek added, “I send my deepest sympathies to her wonderful family, her friends, and her loyal fans.”
