The 24th season of "Big Brother" just started and it’s already been embroiled in a messy controversy.

Fans and alums alike are especially angry over the unfair treatment of Taylor Hale, a 27-year-old black stylist and former Miss Michigan USA.

Hale immediately became the subject of bullying from the present houseguests.

This led to many fans and even former Big Brother contestants slamming the behavior of the houseguests.

Now, host Julie Chen addressed the microaggression and the bullying the former beauty queen faced.

Chen called fans "hypocrites" for attacking the season 24 houseguests who have isolated Hale.

Chen acknowledged that she felt sympathy for Hale.

The host also claimed that the microaggressions and bullying faced by Hale could allude to the "pressure cooker" setting of the environment.

Chen responded to the Twitter outcry with a call for peace, urging them to have compassion.
