Jason Momoa‘s costume on the Halloween episode of “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” had the fans on their feet cheering and of course, that prompted him to deliver one of the most famous quotes in Rock and Roll history, “Thank you, thank you very much.”
The “Aquaman” star strutted his stuff dressed head to toe as Elvis Presley. He wore a pink bell-bottom jumps suit and his outfit was complete a shiny, studded eagle on his cape. The crowd went wild when he swiveled his hips as he made his way through the audience to meet Ellen on the stage.
“Aloha from Hawaii,” Momoa said in his best Elvis voice before Ellen asked him if he’s dressed up as “The King” before. “I am obsessed with Elvis, slightly.” Jason continued, “I just love him, my mama raised me on him and [I’m] so obsessed I bought a bike like him and I got an old ’55 pink Cadillac.”
Momoa is no stranger to dressing up as Elvis, he said that he first dressed up as Elvis for Halloween party at the Playboy Mansion when he was 19-years-old. He revealed that he was starring on the tv show, “Baywatch” at the time and he seemed to be a little embarrassed because he admitted it under his breath. That was the movie star’s first time Los Angeles and he said he dressed up as a young Elvis. The Elvis costume he wore this time seemed to be an older Elvis.
“You look so good,” Ellen exclaimed as the “Game of Thrones” star awkwardly laughed before admitting that the costume would be perfect if he did not have his signature beard. “That would have been a big commitment to shave for this Halloween day,” Ellen said.
Ellen also participated in the festivities by dressing up as “Cardi E”. Her costume was modeled off the Cardi B’s character in the “Hustlers” movie. She hilariously stuck her tongue out as she made her entrance.
She had a giant letter E emblazoned on her chest. “E is for Ellen; it’s also my bra size,” DeGeneres said, making a joke about her large fake chest. Her monologue was interrupted by the real Cardi B who gave Ellen some twerking tips. “Okurrrr,” Ellen screamed as she embraced the “Money” rapper. Cardi joked that Ellen’s chest was “softer” than hers and said, “I should be mad at my doctor.”
During Momoa’s interview, he revealed that the cat feature on his cover shot for Esquire magazine was not his. “It was a random cat on set,” Jason told Ellen and the crowd. “And they were like, hold the cat.” Ellen seemed a little dumbfounded and asked, “do you like cats?” Momoa quickly responded by saying, “No” but he immediately explained, “I don’t not like cats, I just don’t own a cat. I’m just not a cat person.”
Jason also spoke about his recent “GoT” reunion with his co-stars Emilia Clarke and Kit Harington. Ellen asked him about Kit being upset that Momoa shared a photo of the three together. “Kit’s shy and he doesn’t like social media as much as I do.”
The entire interview was fun and entertaining so there is only one thing left to say…
Ladies and gentlemen, Elvis has left the building.
