The former “Toddlers In Tiara” star whose real name is Alana Thompson, recently went Instagram official with her boyfriend, Dralin Carswell, earlier this week.

It was a super cute picture that featured Honey Boo Boo grinning ear-to-ear with her BF also with a big smile on his face, and the couple was matching in blue shirts that read “That’s How I Roll.” The shirt also featured a mummy holding toilet paper.

But, upon further investigation and internet sleuthing, fans of Honey Boo Boo found out the 16-year-old’s boyfriend is 20-years-old.

Her post was met with instant backlash and critical comments.

One person tweeted, “This is disgusting. No 20-year-old ADULT have any business “dating” a 16-year-old CHILD.

Another wrote, “Honey boo boo’s new boyfriend is 20?? Girl is 16. Jail. Jail  jail jail.

“Please stop normalizing this s***. This ain’t okay,” another commented.

It’s clear she’s got a legion of protective fans.

According to reports, the reality TV star has been dating Carswell for six months. She JUST celebrated her sweet 16th birthday on August 28.

A source previously told The US Sun, “Dralin and Alana are attached at the hip and hang out together all the time. He was quiet at first, but he’s like one of the family now. He’s just as fun and crazy as the rest of them.”

Neither Honey Boo Boo nor her boyfriend have spoken out about the backlash.

In addition, Mama June and Honey Boo Boo’s older sisters have stayed quiet about the age gap backlash.

This “trend” of teen stars dating older men has become a recent topic of discussion and worry for fans.

Olivia Rodrigo (18) and Billie Eilish (19) are both dating men years older than themselves. Their diehard fans are concerned of these men “grooming” the pop sensations.

The “Driver’s License” singer was seen packing on the PDA with her director/producer beau, Adam Faze (24) in July.
