Despite the intense adoration Barrymore has for Michler, she made sure to note that there were healthy boundaries between her and the new couple. She explained that she does well to give them space.
Nevertheless, the blended clan tries to hang out together. Barrymore mentioned that they also enjoy dinners with the kids during birthdays and sometimes take a trip as a family.
The Girls Took Over The Wedding
Barrymore also spoke about Michler’s relationships with her daughters, mentioning that she made quite the effort to know the girls “very well and very real,” and their connection felt like a miracle to her.
Kopelman and Michler, the 33-year-old director of fashion development at Vogue, got married in Massachusetts on August 28. Barrymore and Kopelman’s daughters served as flower girls at the romantic ceremony.
The girls looked all shades of adorable in dresses from Brock Collection. According to US Weekly, the older daughter Olive was responsible for designing the ivory dresses worn for the nuptials.
Kopelman gushed about his daughter’s desire to design the dresses for the wedding in an Instagram post, writing that since Olive saw “Cruella,” she was determined to be in charge of her dress, and she sure did a swell job!
No Social Media For The Girls
In the same podcast with Shepard, Barrymore also spoke about why she keeps her daughters away from social media. Barrymore, who grew up in the spotlight, revealed that she didn’t want the same for her kids.
The talk show host mentioned that she wanted her daughters to remain kids, describing herself as “a f*cking Doberman about them.”
She did, however, note that she allows the girls to watch TikTok and other social media, but they are well aware that they won’t ever be on camera, at least for now.
