Here’s something we weren’t expecting to see today, Jesy Nelson praising her former band, Little Mix.
2021 is the year Jesy embarks on her solo-music career after leaving her band in December 2020.
The British pop star announced she would be leaving Little Mix citing mental health reasons; however, not long after her departure from ‘LM’ she was back in the recording studio cooking up something.
Fans of Jesy now know that her debut single will be titled “Boyz” and will feature Nicki Minaj. OH, and it drops THIS WEEK!

Since departing from the band last year, Jesy has defended her decision to pursue a solo career and continue to live in the spotlight.
She explained in a recent interview on the “Reign with Josh Smith” podcast that she needed to do what makes her happy because “you only live once.”
Jesy said that being in Little Mix was “like a machine. You don’t have any time off. You can’t switch off.”
She added, “Even when you go home, your phone is constantly going off about work and your life is planned out. People don’t realize how hard it is to be in a girl band.”
Little Mix was formed on the singing competition show “The X Factor” in 2011.
While the girls that still makeup Little Mix are tight as can be, Jesy can’t help but look back fondly on her time with Leigh-Anne Pinnock, Perrie Edwards and Jade Thirlwall.

In the same interview, Jesy had nothing but good things to say about her ex-bandmates explaining that the girls were quote, “like my sisters.”
She also shared that she had “the most incredible memories with Little Mix.”
She continued saying, “We laughed so much,” and, “Obviously them getting the number one with Sweet Melody and the Brit Award is everything they deserve.”
Jesy added, “I was so happy for them when they won that Brit Award because they f***ing deserve it.”
Jade, Perrie and leigh-Anne made HISTORY at this year’s Brit Awards becoming the first-ever, all female band to take home the Brit for British Group.
In addition to everything Jesy has going on as a solo artist, the ladies of Little Mix also have their hands very full.
Perrie and Leigh-Anne became first time mother’s this year with Leigh-Anne welcomed not one, but TWO babies at once.
Jade is excited to be “cool Auntie Jade,” and next year the ladies will embark on their UK tour.
