Eminem has an exciting new business venture in Detroit!
In a report by People, Marshall Bruce Mathers III, also known professionally as Eminem or Slim Shady, is set to open a new restaurant called Mom’s Spaghetti, located in downtown Detroit.
Inspired By His Popular Track
According to the outlet, the name was probably derived from the 48-year-old rapper’s 2002 Oscar and Grammy-winning single, “Lose Yourself.”
As per the lyrics: “His palms are sweaty, knees weak, arms are heavy. There’s vomit on his sweater already, mom’s spaghetti.”

Eminem actually made the food concept back in 2017. He opened a pop-up shop of Mom’s Spaghetti at a popular Detroit music venue, The Shelter. At the time, he was promoting the release of his album, Revival.
Serving Some Italian Dish
The record producer also sent plastic containers back in April filled with prepared spaghetti for frontline workers at Henry Ford and DMC hospitals as a way of thanking them for helping those in need during the then-emerging coronavirus crisis.
“We’ve had a lot of fun putting this project together with the folks at Union Joints, and the response from fans has been overwhelmingly positive,” Eminem’s manager, Paul Rosenberg, said in a statement. “The previous pop-ups were really a test for us to determine whether there was enthusiasm for a regularly-occurring Mom’s Spaghetti spot that would be open all year long.”
Opening Two Businesses
As per The Detroit News, Mom’s Spaghetti is “a small bodega space” located in Union Assembly. The publication also noted that orders are placed and served through a walk-up window in the alley between Union Assembly and the Fillmore Detroit. In addition, the place will have limited customer seating available inside.
Apart from the restaurant, Slim Shady will also open a little merch store called The Trailer, described by Rosenberg as a “uniquely-curated environment,” will be placed above the pasta place, and it’s where fans can obtain a mix of products inspired by Eminem and Mom’s Spaghetti. Limited edition merchandise and memorabilia from the rapper’s archives will also be up for grabs.
Eminem also took to YouTube and posted a video announcing his new business venture today. The clip was only 30 seconds long, but it showed all the details about Mom’s Spaghetti. As of this writing, the video got over 450,000 views.
The rapper’s fans also speculated that the restaurant is a sign that his readying new material — possibly a new single or a new album. However, no official announcements were made about his new project.
“Eminem got something up his sleeve. He’s definitely dropping music soon,” a supporter wrote.
“‘Everyone waiting for a song. Eminem: Do you want spaghetti?” commented another one.
“Unbelievable till gets official. Rumors say it’s a promotion for the new album,” noted a third commenter.
Meanwhile, some fans couldn’t help but still compare Eminem to Machine Gun Kelly.
“The fact that he is almost 50….been in the game for 20+ years and people are still hyped for the album is crazy……MGK can never touch this,” one wrote.
Eminem also shared the video on Instagram, where he got over 2. 7 million views.
