52-year-old Sunny Hostin and 49-year-old Ana Navarro were asked to exit the set of Friday's live episode of Season 25 of "The View" due to their positive COVID-19 statuses.

The incident occurred at the "Hot Topics" table where the women and co-hosts, 78-two-year-old Joy Behar and 44-year-old Sara Haines, were seated for an interview with Vice President Kamala Harris

Just then, the show's producers asked Hostin and Navaro to exit the set.

An Awkward Exit

Executive producer Brian Teta told the puzzled pair, "I need the two of you to step off for a second. We're gonna bring you back later," Teta said.

Behar asked the producers whether she should bring on Harris for the upcoming segment.

The producers initially said yes but decided against doing so and cut the show to commercial. When the show was back on the air, Behar explained Hostin and Navor's abrupt exit,

“What happened is Sunny and Ana both apparently tested positive for COVID. No matter how hard we try, these things happen... They'll be okay, I’m sure, because they’re both vaccinated.”

The Vice President was not allowed on stage due to health concerns. She was set up to communicate backstage via remote call. Also absent from Friday's show was co-host Whoopi Goldberg.

McCain Says Goodbye To The View

The Blast reported that on Thursday, July 1, TV personality Meghan McCain announced her departure from "The View."

The usually controversial and reserved co-host said goodbye to her four-season appearance at the end of July.

McCain announced on the show that she would "rip the band-aid off" by informing her "wonderful co-hosts" and viewers at home of her impending exit.

A Disney source revealed to PageSix that ABC executives "begged" McCain to remain on the show, but she replied, "No — I'm done! I'm not staying anymore."

The source reported that ABC executives also offered the 49-year-old a contributor role on ABC, which she rejected because "she's just had enough. She doesn't need it anymore."

According to DailyMail, the author had two years to go on her contract but could not take being on the show anymore due to the tension she faced while with the show.

Her Last Straw

In July 2021, the Blast shared that McCain was ready to leave the show months before announcing.

Since she returned from maternity leave in January, the daughter of late John McCain faced tension with many of her co-hosts.

High up on the list of the TV personality's estranged co-hosts is Behar, who, in an on-air exchange with McCain, said she "did not miss her" while she was out.

The mother-of-one said her exit was a tough decision which took a lot of thought, counsel, prayer, and conversations with my family and close friends.

The 36-year-old said the pandemic changed her outlook on life and her vision for it, adding that she would stay in Washington, DC, to raise her daughter Liberty.
