Britney Spears Recalls The Time Justin Timberlake Gave Her A 'Pep Talk' Before 2001 VMAs Performance

Britney Spears shared some details to share about her MTV VMAs performance 20 years ago!

The "Toxic" hitmaker recently took her 34.1 million Instagram followers on a trip down memory lane with several throwback snaps that became an instant hit with her fans.

Apart from the pics, it was her caption that captured the attention of many, as it included a little revelation about her past relationship with her then-boyfriend, Justin Timberlake.

A few hours ago, the 39-year-old "Princess of Pop" shared a series of throwback snaps taken during the MTV Video Music Awards in 2001. The slideshow featured photos of herself sitting down with The Rolling Stones lead vocalist Mick Jagger for a red carpet interview.

In the caption, Britney revealed that the black lace dress she was wearing at the time was of her favorites.

"Geez ... this is me before my VMAs performance with @MickJagger 20 years ago !!!! This is one my my favorite dresses I've ever worn ? and it's simple black lace !!!!" the pop wrote.

She also shared a little story about how her ex-boyfriend calmed her nerves before her famous dance performance involving a large snake and another wild animal.

"I will tell you this ... before I went on that night I was feeling kinda out of body with nerves ... I mean ... I was in a cage with a live tiger ?? !!!!!" Britney recalled, who sang her hit "I'm a Slave 4 U" while also carrying an albino Burmese python on stage. "I will never forget the moment before I went in the cage !!!! Justin saw I could hardly talk so he held my hand and gave me a 5 minute pep talk which obviously worked ??‍♀️??‍♀️??‍♀️?????? !!!!!"

She continued as she addressed the last picture where her eyes were closed. "Psssss guess I'm sleeping ? because my eyes are closed in half of these pics ??? !!!!"

Britney's avid supporters praised her for her performance that night in the comments section of her post. Others also loved the fact she mentioned her ex.

"I love it when Britney talks randomly about Justin," a fan noted.

"Gorgeous look! You killed it that night, as usual," added a second commenter.

This was not the first time Britney talked about Justin. In August, she quoted the "Cry Me A River" singer on Instagram when she posted a photo of an old woman with her big cat.

"As JT would say ... haters gonna say it's fake !!!!! I MEAN ... wow I have no idea ... what do you guys think ? ???? I've always liked small kittens … although big cats are extremely smart they always sort of scared me ??? !!!!!!" she wrote in the caption.

Fans were surprised by her post, with many taking the time to comment under the picture.
