Nicki Minaj has caught a lot of criticism over her husband, Kenneth Petty, and his criminal past. He was convicted of first-degree rape, in 1995. The alleged victim, in this case, is Jennifer Hough, as Petty went on to serve a four-year sentence. He also had to register as a sex offender, following that conviction. Many critics believed that Minaj marrying someone such as Petty would hurt her own image, regarding being loved, in the public eye.
Petty's Alleged Sexual Assault Victim Has Supposedly Been Harassed And Bribed To Recant Her Story
Last month, Hough filed a lawsuit against Petty and Minaj, due to claims of her being threatened, for not recanting her story of what happened, back in 1995. She added that she's suffered emotional distress, and claimed that Minaj saying that the story was recanted in 2018, was false. Hough's family is also said to have "suffered an onslaught of harassing calls and unsolicited visits." Bribery has also allegedly been involved, with Minaj getting people to reach out to Hough's brother, to offer her $500,000 to recant the story. Hough even claimed that Minaj's lawyers randomly popped up at her home, to get this story to be recanted. She then moved from her home, in August 2020, due to fear for her safety, after turning down another $20,000 bribe.
Hough To Appear On 'The Real' To Discuss The Case Against Petty
Things are starting to get even more interesting, regarding Hough's story, about what she supposedly went through, 26 years ago. On Wednesday, she will appear on "The Real" and get deeper into the case. The incident initially occurred in their hometown of Queens, NY, which is also Minaj's hometown.

Petty Was Arrested For Failing To Register As Sex Offender In California In 2020
In March of last year, Petty was also arrested by U.S. Marshals, for failing to register as a sex offender, in the state of California. He was initially arrested for this in November 2019 but continued to fail to fulfill this legal obligation. $100,000 bond was posted and was handed some strict restrictions. This includes surrendering his passport, and not using drugs.
Petty Plead Guilty This Month
Petty went on to plead guilty to not registering as a sex offender in California, this month. He will be sentenced on January 24, 2022, and faces 10 years in prison. This would also include a lifetime of supervised release. This all comes after Petty initially pleaded not guilty, last spring. Since this guilty plea occurred this month, Nicki Minaj has also since been going off on Twitter, about COVID-19 vaccine mandates, and journalists allegedly harassing her family in Trinidad & Tobago. That was in the aftermath of Minaj's cousin's friend, claiming that his testicles got swollen, due to taking one of the COVID vaccines. At this point though, she has to mentally prepare for her husband's sentencing.
