It was an amazing performance last night for Green Bay Packers running back Aaron Jones. He got into the end zone four times as his team wrapped up a comfortable win over the Detroit Lions on Monday Night Football. He was doing all of this while carrying his father’s ashes in a necklace. At one point during the massive night that he was having the necklace with his father’s ashes fell off. What followed was an intense search to locate the necklace. The performance was so great though that he was still smiling from ear to ear in his post-game interview while announcing he lost the ashes.
A Bit of Resignation
As we mentioned Jones came out for post-game interviews with ESPN still not knowing where the necklace was. At that time though he had a bit of resignation in his voice. Still with a smile on his face that he just couldn’t wipe off because of the massive game he had. He talked about this being an “ok” moment to lose his father’s ashes saying,
“I’ll go look for it, but I know he’s happy. He’d be happy, and say, ‘If you lose it anywhere, lose it in the end zone.'”
A Tragic Loss

Aaron Jones hasn’t been carrying his father’s ashes around for too long. Sadly, his father recently passed away this April due to COVID-19. Jones’ father would be a regular at Lambeau Field in Packers games to watch his son play year in and year out. In the broadcast of the game, Jones was able to speak about his loss. He also had around 15 family members in attendance to watch the amazing performance that he put forward. The segment aired on the broadcast was good, but the tribute on the field was next level!
The Massive Effort To Recover The Necklace

It wasn’t like Aaron Jones got back in the locker room after the interview with ESPN and there was someone from the team with his necklace. According to reports, there was a massive effort from the ground crew to try and find the ashes. Jones mentioned that he literally lost it in the end zone on the second touchdown that he scored in the game. There were folks combing the area until 2 a.m. last night trying to find it. With the lights inside the stadium remaining on until that hour to help the search party. Luckily Jones was able to get it back.

He Had A Heck of A Game

Just how big of a game did he really have? Well, he had 64 rushing yards, and he caught six passes for 48 yards. Those numbers alone accounting for over 100 all-purpose yards could already show a stat line of a good game. What made his game great was the fact that he got into the end zone 4 times! Some of us fantasy owners would’ve wished he left a touchdown to Devante Adams, but that’s neither here nor there. Jones has not addressed whether he’ll continue to wear the necklace in games moving forward!
