American TV Personality Amanda Kloots is dancing her way into self-discovery with her debut on the 30th season of “Dancing with the Stars,” which premiered on September 20, 2021.
The fitness instructor made this announcement just days after the posthumous birthday of her late husband, Canadian actor and singer Nicholas Cordero. The two were married for almost three years.
Finding Self With Dance
The 39-year-old made her “DWTS” debut with her professional dance partner Alan Berson. Their first performance on stage was a tango which scored them 28 out of 40.
The mother-of-one got emotional, explaining to Berson why she decided to join this season of “DWTS.” She said that she grew up dancing and did 17 years of Broadway. She expressed,
“Everything that happened to me, the pandemic and losing my husband, this opportunity is kind of a way to find myself again and to feel his presence every day.”
Kloots, who lost her husband to COVID-19 complications on July 5, 2020, said she misses him every day, and he would want her to keep going and live her life.

An emotional Carrie Ann Inaba praised her “The Talk” co-host after her performance. She lauded Kloot’s strength and elegance during her routine, saying Nick was watching above with pride.
The star told host Tyra Banks, after her routine, that a good girlfriend of hers dreamt of Nick in the second balcony of their matrimonial home. So his ashes are there.
The official Instagram handle of “DWTS” uploaded four glamorous stills from Kloots and Berson’s first Tango.
The two were dressed in reflective two-toned purple outfits. Kloots wore a one sleeve slit gown with her hair up in a messy bun while Berson wore a suit.
Honoring Her Husband’s Legacy
Since Cordero’s passing, his wife has kept his memory alive. She continually updates her followers about battling grief and staying strong for their son, Elvis.
In July 2020, the professional dancer held a memorial for Cordero, hosting their close friends and family.
She updated Instagram about the ceremony, noting Nick would love it to be a celebration, “It was beautiful and perfect. His spirit was definitely there.”

The fitness trainer also started #WakeUpNick on Instagram while Cordero was unconscious and hospitalized. This involved users participating in an hour-long virtual dance party to Cordero’s “Live Your Life.”
Kloots completed “Not Far Away,” a song Cordero was writing about his father’s passing. She shared on Instagram that the process of writing and singing the song was therapeutic.
The “DWTS” performer also worked with jewelry designer Stephanie Gottlieb to fashion a unique ring with some of her late husband’s ashes.
Kloots’ Current Romantic Life
The former Rockettes dancer has been testing the waters of romance, since her husband’s passing, amidst unwanted public criticisms.
The TV co-host revealed that she is looking for a new partner, an experience that she has described as “terrifying” and “crazy.”
The 39-year-old reportedly has had about three dates but isn’t currently in any relationship. Kloots still wears her wedding ring and misses her husband every day.
