Shawn Mendes Says Taylor Swift's Boyfriend Joe Alwyn Has A 'Villain' Look To Him!

Shawn Mendes has been caught in one big LIE!

The “Summer of Love” singer recently sat down, or should we say was sat down and wired up to a lie detector test, with Vanity Fair.

He joined the likes of Keke Palmer, Orlando Bloom, Jennifer Lawrence and more for VF’s “Lie Detector Test” series.

The outlet published the video on Monday, September 20, and much to fans surprise… the guy is a bad liar.

He even admitted it himself!

In a recent interview with a different outlet, Shawn revealed his girlfriend, Camila Cabello, says he’s ‘incapable of lying.’

So, when asked the test facilitator, “Does that mean you’re actually really good at lying?” he replied, “No. It means I’m pretty bad at lying.”

SURVEY SAYS: “You’re telling the truth.”

But that was just the beginning!

Shawn then went on to reveal that he HAS lied, and more specifically to his girlfriend. Turns out his lady love had no clue he was lying.

The test then went on to ask questions about Justin Bieber and that time Shawn went to the Met Gala with JB’s wife, Hailey Bieber.

Sadly, Shawn and Justin did NOT chit-chat about that.

As for whether or not Shawn feels he’s nicer than Harry Styles, the singer feels he COULD be nicer than Harry; however, he has never met Haz in person.

And despite Shawn’s charm, muscular build, and perfect smile, he admits he’s been friend-zoned ‘maybe a few times.’

But there’s a catch.

“Really just a few times by the same girl,” Shawn admitted. “But she’s my girlfriend now, so everything’s okay.”

The topic of discussion then moved on to relationships, which is where Taylor Swiftcomes into the conversation.

Shawn opened for Taylor in 2015 during her ‘1989’ tour. The two formed a close bond and have remained friends since.

He admitted he and Tay still text, and most of the time he is asking her advice on new music.

“Do you approve of Taylor’s boyfriend Joe Alwyn,” asked the test facilitator.

Shawn replied, “I’ve never personally met Joe, but he looks like a- he looks like a sweet lie.”

The lie detector test documented deceit and Shawn was called out for not telling the truth!

“I’m lying a little bit? Yeah. I mean, he’s kind of got a little bit of a villain to look about him,” the singer admitted. “I mean, he looks like a nice guy, but like it, he at any movement could turn into a villain. You Know?”

Here’s another interesting thing Shawn revealed about himself, he has a hard time trusting people with really blue eyes.

“He’s got really blue eyes and I struggle with like, eyes that blue. You know? Like, I find it easier to trust brown eyes,” he said.
