The White House isn’t necessarily Buckingham Palace or Windsor Castle, and above all else, the US President is not the Queen of England! However, US presidents have been known to host massive events at the White House. For example, weddings! With President Joe Biden’s granddaughter, Naomi Biden getting engaged over the Labor Day weekend using the White House as a wedding venue became a possibility once more. President Biden certainly would not be the first sitting president to allow the house to be used a wedding venue for a family member.

Naomi Biden is the eldest granddaughter of President Joe Biden. He is the daughter of the president’s more infamous son Hunter Biden. There are actually some very awkward things that the President and their family are not allowed to do while in the White House. For example, they can’t do something as simple as open windows in the house. You don’t want to create an opportunity for the sniper that’s been camping out for days to finally have a clear shot at you!

When it comes to hosting parties, and potentially marriages there are essentially no restrictions on that. Although Dr. Jill Biden has said that in this case, Naomi and Peter have asked to get married at the White House. It could work out for the best though if the couple did get married at the house. It would be easier for the Secret Service to set up proper security to have the President and his family attend the event.

If Naomi Biden gets married at the White House she certainly would not be the first to do so. That honor reportedly belongs to, Lucy Payne Washington. She was the sister-in-law of America’s 4th President James Madison. She married in the house in 1812. Since then the record shows that there have been 18 weddings held at the house. With Richard Nixon’s daughter and Lyndon B Johnson’s daughter being the 2 most high profile ladies to get married in the house in recent memory.
