Netflix dropped the first trailer for the new season on Friday, September 17, and it did NOT disappoint.
In the two-and-a-half-minute trailer, fans are taken on an intense roller coaster of excitement, doom and murder!
Joe Goldberg Is Back!
Fans first got a glimpse of what to expect in the upcoming season on August 30 after the streaming network giant released its first look.
Badgley can be heard narrating the teaser trailer as his character, Joe, saying, “People these days will name their kid anything to get attention.”
A white cake with red icing takes center state and it has, “Welcome Baby” written on it.
“And despite your mother’s background and your Glamma’s determination to refer to you as forty reincarnated, I know better,” he says. “A boy is not what we expected and I would be lying if I said the thought of a mini-me was surely exciting and not without challenges.”=
Joe then reveals his hopes for his little boy.
“I’m hoping you do as I say and not as I do. But for you, I can change. I’ll be a man you look up to. A man you will be proud to call dad. So, what to call you? A name that’s strong but not intimidating. Classic but not basic. Literary of course, because you’ll grow up in a house full of books,” he says.
The teaser reveals Joe and Love (Victoria Pedretti) name their little boy Henry. Upon giving birth, the fictitious couple move to Northern California to “start new.”
A fresh start.
Now, fans are getting an even closer look into what deviant things Joe and Love are up to.
The trailer opens up with Joe saying, “In my history of scared, this is the most scared I’ve ever been.”
“I’ve always believed in the one. To be your dad is changing me. For you I’d move to some soulless suburb. For you I’d marry the monster, your mother Love. What could go wrong,” Joe says.
Throughout the narration, the trailer jumps around from the past to the present to what murders lie ahead.
Joe seemingly becomes obsessed with his neighbor who goes by the name, Natalie Engler. It appears the two get caught up in a love affair and you can guess what happens next… nothing good.
The new ‘YOU’
Love and Joe enter couples therapy all while flashes of bodies in trash bags are being buried, Joe is hiding his lover’s panties in a box and Love is screaming, “Why don’t you love me anymore.”
The trailer closes out Joe and Love digging a grave in broad daylight while their son sits in a car seat not far away from the shovels of dirt.
Love utters, “Till death do us part.”
“You” Season 3 hits Netflix on October 15.
