Naomi Campbell has recently been named the main global ambassador for The Queen's Commonwealth Trust. The actress and model will be essentially taking over heavy promotional duties in one of The Queen's most ambitious charity projects. The role of global ambassador was left vacant after Harry and Meghan decided to leave The Royal Family. Campbell's appointment is certainly noteworthy in many ways. For one this is an initiative that is quite important to Her Majesty. It's really a major break from tradition to bring on a non-royal to play a major role in what is essentially a royal initiative!
What The Organization Does
The website for the organization claims that they are a charity that is aimed that helping young people throughout the different Commonwealth countries. It's not just a fund that gives away money and free things though. At least, that's not the actual idea behind the organization. In theory, it aims to help the young people who essentially become part of the system with yes, loans that offer favorable rates and payment options. Yet, being part of the program allows people to take advantage of different learning opportunities as well as things like free legal advice.
The Charity Hasn't Been Tended To In A While
Megan and Harry's decision to leave the Royal Family pretty much meant that the charity was left unattended. Obviously, it wasn't like Harry and Meghan were involved in the day-to-day operations of the company. However, they were a big part of securing funds for the charity to continue to run. Naomi Campbell has got her work cut out for her. The Queen's Commonwealth Trust boasts on their site that they have given out over 1 million British pounds in funding for different projects. Seriously, just 1 million pounds? Prince Charles could write a check for way more than that tomorrow just to help him with his taxes!
Naomi Is Optimistic
Although she potentially has a lot of ground to cover Naomi Campbell seems optimistic about the work that she can put into the organization. In a statement that she released when it was made official that she would be coming on board as a global ambassador for The Queen's Commonwealth Trust, Campbell made sure to point out that it wasn't just her pretty face that landed her the opportunity. She's more than qualified to take over this type of initiative. She mentioned,
"I have been doing the work with empowering young people for over 25 years. This is something very close to my heart and I will continue to do everything I can to uplift the next generation, so they can create a better future for their communities."
You Have To Be More Careful If You Want to Work With The Royals
Naomi Campbell is certainly one of the most important British models of the last 20 years. If not the most important British model. Working with The Royals though is a whole new ball game. She's going to have to be a little more careful if she wants to keep her role. Literally hours after it was announced that she would be coming on board The Queen's Commonwealth Trust, she was spotted out looking gorgeous as usual in a white outfit. Local media though were quick to point out what almost seemed to be a nipple slip. From looking at the pictures it seems like they were trying to make something out of nothing. Welcome to the royal circles Naomi the pressure is real in here!
