What is, Jeopardy! has finally found a new host?
Nearly one year after famed “Jeopardy!” host Alex Trebek passed away from cancer, it seems the hit game show has finally found a replacement, or should we say replacements!
Things over at the “Jeopardy!” headquarters have been shaky the last few months as the show has desperately tried to find a replacement for Trebek.
There were multiple contenders for the coveted hosting position; however, after taking a deep dive into their social media history… they proved to be unfit for the role.
As The Blast previously reported, last month the show’s executive producer, Mike Richards, was set to take over Trebek’s role as sole host of the game show, but he was accused of making sexist comments and was quickly booted from the role.
LEGEND!
The comments were made during a podcast appearance over eight years ago. Richards called his comments a “terribly embarrassing” misjudgment.
In a letter to The Post, Suzanne Prete, Sony’s executive vice president for business and strategy for the shows said, “I’m writing to let you know that Mike will no longer be serving as EP of Wheel and Jeopardy! effective immediately. We had hoped that when Mike stepped down from the host position at Jeopardy! it would have minimized the disruption and internal difficulties we have all experienced these last few weeks. That clearly has not happened.”
In a note to staff, Richards wrote, “I want to apologize to each of you for the unwanted negative attention that has come to Jeopardy! over the last few weeks and for the confusion and delays this is now causing.”

Prior to Richards, ‘Jeopardy’ champion Ken Jennings was set to become the host, but once again his insensitive past came back to bit him in the butt.
Now, it seems the head executives at the show have finally devised a plan to get the show through the remainder of the season.
According to Variety, ‘Big Bang Theory’ actress Mayim Bialik will continue to host the show in addition to Jennings for the rest of the year.
Bialik has been filling in during the interim, but due to future scheduling conflicts she would not be able to take over as full-time host.
Per Variety’s report, Bialik will take over hosting duties for the first couple weeks, starting September 20 and running through November 5. She and Jennings will then trade off as their schedules allow. The two of them will tape enough episodes to get “Jeopardy” through the end of the year.
