Dr. Anthony Fauci rarely, if ever comments on celebrity news but when it comes to celebs and COVID-19 mixing, the American physician-scientist and immunologist was forced to shut down Nicki Minaj’s allegations against the virus.
Earlier this week, the rapper shared that she wouldn’t be going to the Met Gala this year because a double vaccination is a requirement, and she wasn’t ready to make that commitment.
Interesting Story
In several other tweets, she shared what some ould call horror story side effects of getting the covid-19 vaccine. “My cousin in Trinidad won’t get the vaccine cuz his friend got it & became impotent,” the “Seeing Green” rapper wrote in a social media post.
My cousin in Trinidad won’t get the vaccine cuz his friend got it & became impotent. His testicles became swollen. His friend was weeks away from getting married, now the girl called off the wedding. So just pray on it & make sure you’re comfortable with ur decision, not bullied

“His testicles became swollen. His friend was weeks away from getting married, now the girl called off the wedding. So just pray on it & make sure you’re comfortable with ur decision, not bullied,” she continued.
Dr. Fauci just couldn’t let that one slide and had to shut it down on site. When asked by Jake Tapper during an interview on CNN whether the rapper might be onto something, Fauci almost cut the host off replying “no”.
‘No Evidence’
The doctor, with a look of annoyance on his face, clarified. “The answer to that, Jake, is a resounding no. There’s no evidence that it happens — nor is there any mechanistic reason to imagine that it would happen, so the answer to your question is no.”
Fauci is President Biden’s chief medical advisor and has been battling against false information since the start of the pandemic.
Thankfully, he has no hard feelings against Minaj or any of the celebrities that unknowingly or unintentionally spread false information by sharing what they supposedly heard somewhere. Pointing out that repeating it may not be malicious, but it can ultimately be detrimental.
‘She Should Be Thinking Twice’
Fauci clearly got increasingly annoyed as he discussed the situation involving Minaj “She should be thinking twice about propagating information that really has no basis except a one-off anecdote, and that’s not what science is all about.”
Tapper agreed as he sat back and watch Fauci break down the “Bees In The Trap” rapper’s interesting logic and slam her for misinforming her 22 million followers on Twitter.
Minaj also tweeted a few other nuggets before logging off for the night. She notes that she is doing her own research and will make her decision when she feels comfortable enough. She then somewhat rectified herself by encouraging her followers to be safe.
“In the meantime, my loves, be safe. Wear the mask with 2 strings that grips your head & face. Not that loose one.”
Too Little Too Late
Fauci wasn’t impressed with that last little bit she added after spewing all that alleged misinformation. He was not alone, MSNBC’s Joy Reid also called out the “Only” rapper for her skepticism about the vaccine.
This is what happens when you’re so thirsty to down another black woman (by the request of the white man), that you didn’t bother to read all my tweets. “My God SISTER do better” imagine getting ur dumb ass on tv a min after a tweet to spread a false narrative about a black woman https://t.co/4UviONyTHy

However, Minaj didn’t want to engage with Reid at all and publicly slammed her. “This is what happens when you’re so thirsty to down another black woman (by the request of the white man), that you didn’t bother to read all my tweets,” wrote Minaj.
The two white men sittin there nodding their heads cuz this uncle tomiana doing the work chile. How sad. https://t.co/4UviONyTHy

She accused the news anchor of getting her tweet wrong and blasting HER for possibly spreading a “false narrative” in regards to the rapper.
Fauci, on the other hand, has no intentions of going back and forth with Minaj. He said what he said.
