Smallville actress Allison Mack reported to Federal Correction Institute in Dublin, California today to begin her three-year prison sentence for her involvement with the sex cult NXIVM.
The former actress turned herself in on Monday, Sept. 13, two weeks ahead of schedule. Mack was supposed to arrive on Sept. 29 but figured she would get a jump on her time behind bars. In addition to her sentence, when released, she will be supervised for three more years.
NXIVM

Mack was initially sentenced back in late June for her role in the cult. The sentencing came a few years after she plead guilty to one count of racketeering conspiracy and one count of racketeering including extortion and forced labor.
Mack was also fined $20,000 according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the East District of New York. At her sentencing, the 39-year-old wrote an emotional letter asking for forgiveness. Her lawyer even requested that Mack not get any prison time.
“I am sorry to those of you that I brought into Nxivm. I am sorry I ever exposed you to the nefarious and emotionally abusive schemes of a twisted man,” wrote Mack in the letter. Obviously, that idea was taken off the table. As for her involvement with Keith Raneire, NXIVMs leader, Mack described it as, “biggest mistake and greatest regret of my life.”
Disturbing Allegations

Mack was not successful in convincing the courts that she was not as involved as it looked because there were way too many allegations against her. One victim, during her testimony against the 60-year-old cult leader stated that Mack “assigned” them to do “whatever” is possible to make Raneire happy.
She was in so deep that she promised Raneire she would give up any children that may be produced and all of her possessions to the cult leader. She allegedly instructed the victims to follow in her footsteps.
‘Under A Spell’
The actress’s lawyer claimed that Mack was “under a spell” for a long time but in a detailing interview with HollywoodLife.com back in May 2019, Frank Parlato stated she is “no longer under Keith’s control.” Because of this, the cult leader’s “spell has been broken for Allison.”
In the past Mack has admitted to feeling “shame” over her actions but it has also made her a “better, kinder woman.” Mack is also a victim in a sense and in recognizing that she has been able to apologize and reconnect with friends and family that she pushed away.
Paying The Price
In the apology letter, the former actress states, “Please know that I am dedicated to spending my life working to mend the hearts I broke and continuing to transform myself into a more loving and compassionate woman.”
It looks like the first step is doing her three-year prison sentence. She will be an alum of CID along with celebrities like Felicity Huffman and Lori Laughlin. Both women served their sentences there for their involvement with the college admission scandal.
If fans are lucky, they may get a few snaps of the actress in the yard. Who else wonders if she will be the type of prisoner who walks the repeated circle until yard time is done. Or, if she will make a few friends to smoke cigarettes with on the dusty picnic bench?
