Last week, English actress and model, Kate Beckinsale was rushed to the hospital while filming a new movie in Las Vegas.
Reports stated that she was lodged at The Signature, MGM Grand while in town to shoot the movie, “Prisoner’s Daughter.”
While staying at The Signature, her “back went out” early Friday morning, and it was so severe that she was rushed to a local hospital via ambulance.
The 48-year-old actress then spent several hours in the emergency room receiving medical care, and with no health update disclosed about her condition for two days.
Now, her worried fans can smile as Beckinsale recently shared an update about her health status last Sunday. Keep reading below for more information.
Feeling A Lot Better
The “Underworld” star shared a photo from her hospital bed via her Instagram to tell fans how she was doing.
“Feeling a lot better. Thank you so much for your kind messages and love x,” Kate captioned the photo.
The photos also showed an IV still hooked up to her right arm, which could mean that she’s not yet out of the danger zone yet. Many fans and her celebrity friends quickly shared their support for her in the comments section of her post.

“Oh my gosh! Friend!” Comedian Sarah Silverman who dated Beckinsale’s ex, Michael Sheen, wrote.
Actress Andie MacDowell commented, “Oh dear I’m just catching up. I hope everything’s OK.”
Tracey Cunningham also added, “Feel better, I will say prayers U!!!!!!!!”
What’s The Update on Filming?
Though filming for “Prisoner’s Daughter” kicked off a week ago, it is safe to assume that Beckinsale’s injury could significantly impact the shoot.
The picture she posted on her Instagram page showed the actress still feeling the pangs of the treatment she must have received. Therefore, it might be difficult to predict how long her absence would end up delaying the filming.
She would probably require a lot of bed rest even after her discharge from the hospital.
However, she is in luck as the new movie doesn’t appear to be an action-packed one, she can make a quick recovery and get back to work without worrying about exerting herself with physical moves in the film.
At the moment, the producers of the film have not disclosed any information on whether they would go on with production without Beckinsale.
Beckinsale’s Previous Visit To The Hospital
This is not the first time the actress has been admitted for a serious ailment. In 2019, she was taken to the emergency room when she suffered a ruptured ovarian cyst.
Back then, she shared a photo of herself in a hospital bed on Instagram with a breathing tube in her nose and a sad expression on her face.
“Turns out a ruptured ovarian cyst really hurts, and morphine makes me cry.” She wrote in the caption. “So thankful to everyone who looked after me #wobbly,” she also added.
Hopefully, having several stints at the hospital will not become the norm for Beckinsale as she makes a full and speedy recovery.
About The Movie
Beckinsale is set to star in Catherine Hardwicke’s forthcoming family drama movie “The Prisoner’s Daughter.”
The film tells the story of a tough but proud ex-con who’s trying to find a way to reconnect with his only daughter and grandchild after he served 12 years in prison.
Once he begins an attempt at reconciliation, his traumatic past rears its ugly head to ruin the budding relationship with them.
Hardwicke Directs
According to Hardwicke, “Mark Bacci’s script is a raw, personal look at a deeply fractured family, like my first film Thirteen (with Evan Rachel Wood and Holly Hunter.)”
“With Prisoner’s Daughter, I want to fully immerse the viewer in Kate’s character’s intense world as she, her father, and her young son try to heal generational family trauma and find a new way forward.”
Beckinsale will star alongside Brian Cox, Tyson Ritter, and Ernie Hudson in the movie.
