Actress Tanya Fear who was recently reported missing in Los Angeles has been found. Her family made a confirmation tweet on Twitter and a spokesperson from the LAPD also confirmed to CBS News that she has been found alive and safe.

Popularly known for her role as Dr. Jade McIntyre in the popular TV show “Doctor Who,” Tanya was active on Twitter and last seen around her apartment in the Hollywood Bowl area. This was before she was declared missing by her family on September 9. And it went on for almost a week.

A widespread investigation followed her missing person’s report, as the police searched thoroughly for the actress.

Also online, fans created a hashtag and dedicated their accounts to seek more information and provide updates on the actresses' whereabouts.

Announcement By Tanya's Family

To aid in the search for Fear, her family created a Twitter account called "FindTanyaFear" and a hashtag #FindTanyaFear which helped to provide updates to concerned people and have an open line of communication between the family and Twitter users.

Luckily, a tweet from this account announced that she had been found safe and alive.

"It is with great pleasure and relief that we report that Tanya has been found safe by police today. We understand she is not physically harmed but as a precaution, is being assessed at a local hospital."

The tweet also thanked everyone who pitched in to find the missing actress; from the Los Angeles police to the public who showed concern and support throughout the investigation.

Missing Person’s Report

According to a spokesperson from the LA Police Department, the 31-year-old was initially reported missing on September 9, 2021, by a close friend who tried to reach her to no avail.

The police department declined to release any more information on the case.

A statement by the FindTanyaFear account noted that she left her apartment without her phone or purse which made it impossible to reach her.

Prior to her disappearance, she was active on Twitter and retweeted a photo from singer Dolly Parton.

At the time, Tanya's mother, Yvonne Marimo, said; "I am devastated about this situation, and I appeal to anyone with information to please come forward to bring our daughter back home safely."

The statement on the Twitter page before she was found also revealed that her family was determined to launch their own search for Tanya, and had begun visa applications to travel to the U.S to find her.

Publicity About Her Disappearance

As a popular actress and celebrity, it was unavoidable that the news of her going missing would spread. With the creation of the Twitter account and hashtag, several people showed concern in the case and offered their help in publicizing the actresses' disappearance.

There were missing person’s posters on social media sites, which contained a photo/description of the actress and information about where she was last seen, and who to contact with information about her.

A Twitter user who claimed to be Tanya's cousin tweeted;

"Please please please share if you have mutuals in the LA/Hollywood bowl area. My cousin is missing, she has no family in the US and we're all really worried."

The official fan account for "Doctor Who" also publicized the case by posting information about Tanya and a tag to the user who alerted them about the case.

Tanya's Professional Career

Tanya, a professional actress, and director is mostly known for her role as Dr. Jade McIntyre on an episode of "Doctor Who" and as Harlow in "Kick-Ass 2."

She also appeared in the French series "Spotless," British show "Endeavour," a film titled "A Moving Image," and in the video game, "Need For Speed: Payback."

She moved to LA to further her career in the film industry after growing up in London and schooling at Kings’ College University.

As of the time of her disappearance, she had just begun a career in stand-up comedy and was doing well according to her manager.
