“Wendy is dealing with some ongoing health issues and is undergoing further evaluations,” read the statement. “She will not be able to complete her promotional activities next week,” it continued.
The statement was straightforward and any attempts to reach out to the daytime show host’s spokesperson by PEOPLE and other publications were not returned. The statement made sure to let fans know that Williams will be back to her regularly scheduled program soon.
She apparently can’t “wait to be back in her purple chair Monday, September 20th for the 13th season premiere.”

No Further Details
The sassy host did not reveal any further information about her health or what issues she was facing. This is the second time that Williams has taken some time off due to health concerns.
Back in May 2020, the 57-year-old took some time off from her show gain citing health concerns. The TV personality has shared in the past that she suffers from Graves’ disease and her small break was because of a flare-up.
A statement was released that enlightened fans on Williams’s condition at the time. noting that she is taking the time off to deal with “symptoms from her Graves’ disease, which is causing fatigue.”
‘Stop Putting Everyone First’
The host also shared at the time that she was put on a “three-week vacation” by her doctor because her health was that bad. She later stated that women need to pay attention to themselves more often.
“What I want to say to women, more than men, is stop putting everyone first because if we’re not good, they’re not good.”
Williams’s health conditions have been an ongoing problem, she once described her Hypothyroidism and Graves’ disease as a “storm going on in my body” and admitted she didn’t help herself by neglecting to go to her endocrinology appointment.
Fans will not forget when the host passed out while taping an episode of The Wendy Williams Show. The Halloween episode became eerier when Williams, dressed as the Statue of Liberty passed out, toppling off the stage, freaking out fans completely.
This forced her to take a break, telling her viewers, “I love doing the show, but I love me more. So, I’m going to take care of me, so I can be there for them.”
Lots Of Support
Soon after the post, followers were sending well wishes to the host. Margaret Josephs, Sheree Whitfield, and Candance Dillard all from the Real Housewives franchise were some of the first to show support.
Fellow journalist, Perez Hilton told the star to “get well soon” and one-time guest and music producer Stevie J sent prayers.
As noted, Williams will be back to get the show on Sept. 20, and seeing as she has had time to rest, she will be firing at her best!
