Olivia Jade Giannulli is hoping her time on ‘DWTS’ will be “a second chance” in Hollywood and the entertainment business.
The new ‘Dancing With The Stars’ contestant announced she will join the cast of the upcoming 30th season of the hit competition show. Olivia, who is the daughter of Lori Loughlin and Mossimo Ginannulli, told reporters that she is hoping to use the experience as an opportunity to “grow” and is “grateful” for getting the second chance.
“I hope people just really genuinely know how excited and grateful I am,” she said. Adding, “I think about a few weeks ago, and knowing that this was very far-fetched and not really in the cards. I’m super thankful for a second chance. I’m ready to put myself back out there and try new things, I’m really excited to challenge myself and put myself out of my comfort zone, which I don’t do often.”

The new cast of ‘DWTS’ was just announced and it includes Peleton trainer Cody Rigsby.

Olivia’s Casting Causing Backlash
Unfortunately, Olivia’s casting on the show has caused a major backlash on social media with many point out — considering her family’s criminal issues — it is the definition of “white privilege.”One person write, “Who approved for Olivia Jade to be on DWTS I wanna know now.” Of course, Olivia told reporters that she debated whether or not to join the competition shows cast, due to how “vulnerable” she would have to be on television.
“Obviously in any situation, it’s scary to be vulnerable and show a personal side to yourself because they really do get to see behind the scenes, but I’m honestly just grateful for this opportunity,” she said.

Besides the fact that she will have to learn the art of ballroom dancing, the 21-year-old Youtuber noted she hoped “to grow as an individual throughout this process.”
As we reported, Olivia’s parents were both sentenced to prison last year after pleading guilty to charges connected to the college bribery scandal. According to legal documents, the couple paid $500,000 to Rick Singer to falsify records claiming that both of their daughters were recruits to the University Of Southern California’s crew team. In the filing, they even included a picture of one of them rowing on a machine. Obviously, neither one of them competed in rowing at all.
Back in August, the couple plead guilty, and it included two months in jail for Loughlin, plus a fine and community service. Her husband received five months in federal prison — along with a $250,000 fine and 250 hours of community service.

Following the sentence, Olivia Jade broke her silence on the situation…sitting down with ‘Red Table Talk.’
She Doesn’t Want To Play The Victim
“I’m not trying to victimize myself. I don’t want pity — I don’t deserve pity. We messed up. I just want a second chance to be like, ‘I recognize I messed up,” she said. Adding, “I never got to say, ‘I’m really sorry that this happened,’ or ‘I really own that this was a big mess-up on everybody’s part,’ but I think everybody feels that way in my family right now.”
