Frank Lloyd Wright once defined success to be the combination of dedication, hard work and an unremitting devotion to the things you want to see happen.

This quote seems to be the mantra of the welsh actor, Tom Ellis, star of the Netflix chart-topping series, Lucifer. He has over the years worked hard to be cast in both British and American productions and worked on stage as well as in television and film.

The versatile actor has also grown his already existing fanbase into millions, charming them with his alluring character and exquisite accent which was on full display in the urban fantasy television series.

As his acting career has spanned more than a decade, he has acquired some wealth, which is only expected for someone at the top.

'Lucifer' Boosted Ellis' Exposure And Earnings

Ellis's first foray into the film industry was when he was cast as Ben in the television series "Kiss me Kate" back in 2001. He became popular for his supporting role as Gary Preston in Sitcom "Miranda," and also acted in "Merlin" as King Cenred and "Doctor Who" as Tom Milligan.

While he was no longer a newbie in the industry, his role as the devil in "Lucifer" amplified his earnings and his popularity exceedingly, placing him among the top earners on television.

When Netflix made the decision to rescue "Lucifer" from certain death after Fox canceled the series in 2018, it gave the show a bigger platform and was deemed the most-streamed series of 2019. This further increased Ellis' ratings, as his face is the brand associated with the hit show.

With over 40 television and film appearances to his name, Ellis has been estimated to be worth $6 million according to The Richest. The magazine further reports that the actor would receive $ 50,000 for each episode of Season 5.

This is a wicked salary!

What We Know About 'Lucifer'

The television series first premiered in 2016 on the Fox channel and is based on the DC Comics character created by Neil Gaiman, Sam Kieth, and Mike Dringenberg taken from the comic book series "The Sandman."

The story centered around Lucifer Morningstar who decided he was tired of running Hell and decided to spend some time on Earth to better understand humanity.

He settled in Los Angeles - the City of Angels, where he ran a nightclub named Lux then became a consultant for the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD).

The first and second seasons were rated high, but ratings crashed in the third season, prompting Fox to cancel the series. Netflix picked up the series for the fourth season and gave it a fresh feel.

Thankfully, ratings increased tremendously and the show was renewed for a 5th season and released in two halves between August 2020 and May 2021.

Although the fifth season was initially reported to be the last, in June 2020 the series was renewed for a sixth and final season of ten episodes, which premiered on September 10, 2021.

A Fitting End

This time around, there would be no second-guessing as the 6th season would be the final one in the franchise.

Fans would recall that in season three, Chloe Decker (Lauren German) realized her dashing consultant (Tom Ellis) was literally the devil he always hinted to be. Fox ended the show on this note, leaving fans highly dissatisfied.

After suffering from Fox season three's cliffhanger, Netflix season-five climax "A Chance At A Happy Ending,"  was remarkable, showing a battle among angels for the fate of the universe, and Lucifer becoming God in the end.

The final season is easily the most intimate season of the series, with the show planning to explore each of the series' major characters, their motivations, their emotions, and their place amid  Lucifer's new status quo as God.

There would also be plenty of cameos and callbacks, which intertwines with the larger story at play. This all brings the franchise ultimately to a fitting end and would certainly leave most fans euphoric.
