The Netflix series “Sex Education” aired for the first time back in 2019 and a second season premiered on January 17, 2020. It has received critical acclaim since its debut on the movie network with over 40 million viewers streaming the first series when it aired.
The TV show primarily followed a teenage boy named Otis whose mother is a sex therapist. As he grew, Otis garnered several sex-related knowledge unconsciously, making him have an insider understanding of sex.
He used this knowledge plus the sex education resources in his home to set up an underground sex therapy clinic in school and offered counseling services to his classmates.
The show cast several actors such as Asa Butterfield, Gillian Anderson, Ncuti Gatwa, Connor Swindells, Aimee Lou Wood, and a host of others.
Among them, two are dating in real life. Keep scrolling below to discover who they are and how they met.
The Wood-Swindell Duo
The duo met while filming the first season of the British comedy-drama television series. Connor Swindells portrayed Adam, the headmaster’s son while Aimee Lou Wood played the close friend of Maeve (Emma Mackey).
The pair dated at the start of the plot, but after some issues, they broke up. However, Wood and Swindells had a little more luck than their characters, and the two actors are actually twosome in real life.

Although they might have been an item since 2018, many “Sex Education” fans are only now discovering that Wood and Swindells are dating in real life. Some excited fans who just discovered the dating news was pleasantly surprised.
“Did you guys know aimee and adam are actually dating in real life and they’re the most adorable couple ever,” One fan screamed online.

The Romance Continues
For those fans on Instagram, the duo have made it obvious that their affection for one another is not on the low. Swindells and Wood often share pictures of themselves and the activities they do together.
Ahead of his birthday celebration last year, Swindells revealed his pet name for his partner as he called her “the cherub” in a sweet Instagram post.

On his birthday, Wood shared some photos of them with a cute caption.
“Happy day of birth swindells you beautiful magnificent man. You’ve been a warrior king forever in the hundreds of lives you have already lived but now you’re my.”
She then added, “and I don’t give a f**k if anyone thinks that is cringey cuz i’m trying to be as brave as u are. i’m owning my narrative . Big thank you to adam groff and aimee gibbs for making all this possible… not going to say any more because i feel vulnerable but you know the rest (posting now because of that evil time difference).”
Choreographed Sex Scenes
During an interview with the Telegraph, Swindells spoke about how their sex scenes had a choreographed script prepared by an intimacy director.
This ensured that any sexual awkwardness was kept at a minimum. He also revealed that he, Wood, and the rest of the cast, were prepared for the sex scenes.
He said, “That way, it’s like you’re not taking anything from your own life,” he added. When you do that, you get home at the end of the day and you’re depressed and you feel vulnerable because you’ve just shown people what you do in the most personal, vulnerable situation.”
Wood also concurred that the choreography put her mind at ease, saying once it has been rehearsed fully clothed it’s “really fun, actually.”
When is ‘Sex Education’ Coming Back?
Avid viewers of the hit series have been drooling for its return after the second season ended with several cliffhangers.
The last episode showed Otis (Asa Butterfield) leaving Maeve (Emma Mackey) a voicemail, finally admitting his love for her, only to have it deleted by her neighbor Isaac (George Robinson).
Eric (Ncuti Gatwa) and Adam (Connor Swindells) also addressed their feelings for one another, and Jean (Gillian Anderson) shockingly discovered that she was pregnant.

In reality, Wood and Swindells seem happy together, and we are curious to see how their characters would develop in the next season.
Fans can expect to see the new season premiere on September 17, 2021, barring any change by Netflix.
