Dog The Bounty Hunter is claiming he had a “pass” to use the n-word after a production company dropped him for using the racial slur and it’s caused a rift in his own family.
Duane ‘The Dog’ Chapman sat down for an interview with ‘Entertainment Tonight’ where he was given a chance to explain why he used the word several times in a leaked phone message from several years back. Shockingly, Dog claims he was given a “pass” to use the slur by prisoners he spent time with inside a Texas jail.
The 68-year-old reality star explains he spent time behind bars in the 1970s and the n-word was used by inmates as a positive moniker. “I have never been a racist,” he insisted. Adding, “I’m 33.5 percent Apache. But because of over 15 years ago, I have an Achilles’ heel because I used the wrong word.”
Dog The Bounty Hunter Uses ‘Eminem’ Argument In N-Word Explanation

Interestingly, Dog used rapper Eminem in his argument — claiming he is similar to him because he was given a “pass” to use the word. “I thought I had a pass in the black tribe to use it, kind of like Eminem,” he explained. The ET host pressed Chapman who exactly gave him the authority to use the racial slur, and he simply said the “brothers.”
“I had just gotten out of prison in 1979 after spending time, 18 months in Texas, and it was probably three-fourths from the black tribe, so that was a word that we used back and forth, as maybe a compliment,” Dog said.
He continued, “My pass expired for using it, but no one told me that.”
Dog The Bounty Hunter: Saying A Racist Name, Doesn’t Make You A Racist

During the discussion, Dog made the point claiming just saying a “racist name” doesn’t “make you a racist” for saying it. As you can imagine, the ET host explained to the reality star that having “proximity” to someone who is black doesn’t automatically give you the pass to use the slur.
Duane dismissed the second accusation by his daughter of being homophobic, claiming she has been fed what to say by a disgruntled production company. “I have three men on my staff that are gay,” he said. Adding, “My daughter is gay, baby Lyssa. I don’t understand why anybody would ever say that.” Again, the host pressed Dog on using the “proximity” argument when speaking about gay people in his life.
At this point, Dog became very emotional during the interview and clarified that he would “lay down his life” for a “gay man or black man.”
Duane ‘The Dog’ Chapman: My Daughter Is Gay!

As we reported, the scandal surfaced after it was reported Dog’s daughter was not invited to the reality star’s upcoming wedding. In an explanation, his fiancee — Francie France — explained the couple made the decision due to the people she decided to work with despite them turning on her father. His daughter, Bonnie, claims in a lengthy Facebook post that she was not invited to the wedding due to her association with Black Lives Matter.
“He would cheat on my mom all the time, and I hated him every time he did it, but I forgave him for that because I wanted a relationship with my dad,” she said. Adding, “I thought I had only one parent left. I was left with the racist and homophobic parents.”
