After facing a public divorce from his estranged wife, Christina Anstead (Haack), as well as battling and overcoming cancer, HGTV’s Tarek El Moussa has found ‘The One.’
He and the “Selling Sunset” star, Heather Rae Young had been dating since 2019, and their love story has been fast, furious, and too cute for words, as they fell for each other and didn’t look back. The couple, who have been together for less than two years, are currently engaged and even bought a house together.

The duo met for the first time on the fourth of July, 2019 during a boat ride with mutual friends in Newport Beach, California. Later that month, they were reported to be getting cozy alone on another boat ride in Redondo Beach, California.
Later on, Moussa took to his social media to confirm the status of their relationship. He shared a picture of them alongside a sweet message detailing how he was able to find happiness in love.
The “Flip or Flop” star wrote that Young made him a “better man.” Now, let’s take a look at the whirlwind romance that is their incredible love story from the very beginning.
The two met for the first time on the fourth of July, 2019 when Moussa spotted Heather on a yacht near his own.
At the time, Moussa had just finalized his divorce from his ex-wife and was in six years remission from a cancer battle. Young, on the other hand, was in another relationship at the time and turned Moussa’s advances down.
No one knows what happened in-between, but on the 28th of the same month, paparazzi spotted them getting cozy on Redondo beach, California.

On July 22, the pair became official on their second date. However, this wasn’t revealed to the public until recently when they were celebrating their anniversary. People also reported that they had moved in together a week after their first date.
This was later confirmed by Moussa in his anniversary post. In August, the couple appeared in their first interview together, where they discussed their relationship at length.
Later in the year, Young posed with her boyfriend and his two kids for a Christmas photo. She also told Women’s Health how she felt at home amongst his kids.
“The kids welcomed me into their life from day one,” the luxury real estate agent added. “Like night one, Taylor made up a dance for me with her cousin. They started calling us ‘Teather’ from the very beginning. I basically met the family and then never moved out,” she said.
On April 6, 2021, Moussa and Young bought and moved into a new house together. Although the timing wasn’t ideal for a move, the couple told
People that they had been looking at houses before the pandemic and were able to make it work with lots of gloves and masks and a little bit of chaos.
In July again, exactly one year after they started dating, Moussa and Young shared anniversary tributes. They kicked it off with a series of photos on Instagram that were tagged serious couple goals and ended it with a cheesy and very romantic caption.
On July 25, Moussa proposed to Young. It was during a romantic getaway celebration for their one-year anniversary. Young announced the proposal via her Instagram page.
To this effect,, she posted a photo of her smiling as her fiancé placed the diamond on her finger. The caption read; “The Future Mrs. Tarek El Moussa.”
Reveling in post-proposal bliss, Young took to her Instagram to share details of her engagement.
“I was confused for the first 15 seconds as I walked down the gorgeous candle & flower aisle wondering what the heck is going on. Then I thought, ‘OMG is he proposing??? No way!!!!’ But in my head, I talked Myself out of it thinking well I bet it’s earrings!!! I didn’t want to get my hopes up,” she concluded.
On February 9, 2021, Young got her fiancé’s name inked on her butt. It was for her “special Valentine’s Day present,” as reported by Page Six.
She shared a photo of the body art with the caption; “Yes Sir, Mr. El Moussa,” before deleting it minutes later after receiving a backlash from netizens. She noted that it was completely taken out of context, and the meaning blown out of proportion.
On the 24th of the same month, she spoke about being a stepmom. Since her engagement to Moussa, she took on the responsibility of being a stepmom to her fiancé’s two kids, Taylor, 10, and Brayden, 5.
She told Us Weekly how it was the hardest thing and she was thrown into it. She never raised a human before and thus, never had time to prepare.
The 39-year-old HGTV star posted on Instagram on Tuesday that he and Young just got a ‘sneak peak into what their beautiful wedding ceremony would look and feel like.
Moussa also revered that while he was “looking at all the details and all the designs,” what he was really focused on, was how incredibly lucky he was to be marrying the love of his life.
The couple is sharing more and more info about their lives as they get closer to their wedding day, which they teased was coming up very soon.
We wish them infinite happiness in this new and next phase of their lives together.
