In movies, when stars first meet each other, it can end in two ways— awkward or exciting. For those who felt synced immediately, good for them, however, there are some who had and have to ease into the process before they feel comfortable around each other.

It really doesn't matter how incredible a storyline seems, if the main cast of the show, especially in the case of on-screen love interests does not click, directing such a movie will take its toll on everyone involved. Nevertheless, there have been cases where co-stars disliked each other, but for the sake of the movie's success, they put aside their differences and got to work.

'Hey Babe'

It is one of the most awkward things to mistake a person at a gathering for someone you know, especially a lover, as this awkward can end in a number of ways, one of which is a dirty smack across the face.

Cook opened up to E! that she attended an event in House of Yes, and the actor happened to be present there too. She went on to say that they were saying hi to everyone at the meet, and simply having a good time, however, the unexpected happened.

"I was standing in the living room and I felt these giant arms just throw themselves around me and hug me, and rest a chin on top of my head," she continued saying; "And it was Freddie, and he goes; 'Hey babe.'"

The 41-year-old then noted that she immediately looked up and let out a sharp scream that came from a place of shock and horrification perfectly mixed together. Apparently, Freddie mistook her for his then partner, Kimberely McCullough.

A Striking Resemblance

Cook's description of how Freddie approached her from behind and put his arm around her, was proof that the 45-year-old definitely thought he was holding his girlfriend, but alas! He wasn't.

"The Babysitters Club" actress also disclosed that she did not blame the actor because she did have a striking resemblance with McCullough.

"He didn't know it was me because why would you? We had the exact same frame and hair color. So it was pretty hilarious, the romantic-comedy first meeting that obviously never became a real romance, but it was pretty funny," she explained.

Cook did not go into more details about the actor's reaction when he found out he was holding the wrong person, however, it's not a far stretch to assume that he was also shocked and maybe embarrassed by the situation. Thankfully, the actress made it less weird for him by finding it funny.

Not Close Friends

One would think that with such an incredible first-meet, Cook and Freddie would go on to become very good friends, but that's not the case.

The "Nancy Drew" star revealed that after "She's All That'" hit the cinemas and big screens, she and Freddie went their separate ways, and did not stay in touch with one another. The pair stayed off each other's radar for more than a decade.

Sadly, they reconnected again when one of their co-stars and "Fast & Furious" star, Paul Walker died in 2013 after a ghastly car accident.

"He's just such a wonderful human. I just love that guy. But I probably didn't talk to him again until a couple of years after Paul died, and realized 'you really have to reach out and take some initiative,'" she said.

About 'He's All That'

This 2021 film is a spinoff of the 1999 "She's All That," which starred prominent actors like TikTok star and singer, Addison Rae, Tanner Buchanan, Madison Pettis, Peyton Meyer, and Rachael Leigh Cook.

The movie, which was directed by Mark Watters, and produced by Andrew Panay, Bill Block, and Jennifer Gibgot, centers around Padgett Sawyer, an Instagram influencer and high school finalist living with her single nurse mother.

Sawyer discovered heartbreaking news that her boyfriend, a co-influencer had been cheating on her, and to make matters worse, a Livestream of their breakup resulted in the loss of her scholarship. To exert her revenge on her former lover, the once love-struck teenager promises to make the school's least popular boy a prom king.

This awesome movie is available for streaming on Netflix right now.
