James Corden Also Got The Helicopter Treatment From Tom Cruise, Actor Popped In For A Visit

Fans thought actor Tom Cruise was outrageous yet again this week when the actor landed his helicopter in the yard of a London-based family. His story apparently isn’t so outrageous because he pulled the same stunt with James Corden, host of The Late Late Show with James Corden. “This summer, no way to say this without sounding like a prick, it's true. This summer, me and Tom Cruise were texting about meeting up in London,” shared Corden who prefaced his story as being a true story about the adrenaline-junkie actor.
'Cool, Can I Land My Helicopter There?'
The comedian shared that Cruise was insistent on meeting up for a quick catch-up. “Whereabouts are you staying?' and I said 'I'm staying in St. Johns Wood,' which is pretty central in London,” shared Corden as he recounted the larger-than-life story. “Cool, can I land my helicopter there?” asked Cruise confidently. The late-night host assumed the actor was joking so responded with a bunch of laughing emojis. To which Cruise responded “Does this mean no?” a shocked Corden admitted he had to take a breath before responding to the actor. Even though he is aware of his daredevil behavior, experiencing it firsthand is apparently a whole other understanding.
Still In Disbelief
Corden who is still in just as much shock as his audience pulls his phone out and reads the text message verbatim. “What? You are here? We gotta find some time to grab some dinner. Are you at Coworth? I can land my Heli there,” wrote the actor in the text to Corden seemingly already knowing he can land his chopper there. The Mission Impossible star casually ended his text with “Would love to see you x,” as if he didn’t just say he was going to take a helicopter over to his friend's place. After Corden responded, Cruise insisted, “We are going to make that happen,” and again confirmed with Corden “Can I land my Heli in your yard? T.” Still not sure if this is some kind of wild prank, Corden jokingly responded, “I'll measure it out, but my hunch is you can't land a helicopter in St. Johns Wood.”
‘You'd Be Surprised Where I Can Land’
The actor wasn’t kidding at all in fact he responded to Corden, “You'd be surprised where I can land,” insinuating that there have been other places, more complicated places that the Top Gun: Maverik actor has managed to park his inconvenient choice of transportation. He proved this when he asked that random London mother Alison Webb if he could use her family’s lawn to park his unconventional vehicle while he ran to a quick meeting. Webb shared that she was told her yard was needed by an unnamed “VIP” and who would say no to that? “It turned out to be an incredible day,” admitted the UK mom.
She Too Had The Same Reaction As James
While Webb noted that the experience was out of this world, she too had a moment of a similar reaction to the late-night tv host. “It was surreal, I still now can't believe it happened.” Corden ended his bizarre story essentially uncontrollably laughing along with his audience.
