A 43-year-old man was granted 30,0000 from his parents in court after he sued them because they had discarded his collection of porn magazines and videos. Along with a considerable amount of sex toys. The man’s name is David Werking. His story is one of the saddest, and most cringe-worthy, that you’re going to hear for quite a while. The whole incident began when Werking moved back with his parents in Michigan after getting a divorce.
Moving Back With All Of His Stuff
After his divorce, David potential fell on hard times. So much so that at around 40 years of age, he had to move back with his parents. In that move, he took with him his prized porn collection. In retrospect, looking at how much he revered his porn collection, that could’ve been one of the reasons why he got divorced in the first place. Anyway, he later moved to Indiana and had his parents send him over his things. He quickly noticed that a couple of boxes were missing.
Where’s My Porn Dad?
When he realized that his porn was missing, he confronted his father about it. David was potentially thinking about a lawsuit very early in the process. What he literally did was email his dad to complain about his missing porn. David presented a transcript of the reply email that he got from his father that read,
“It is gone. It has been either destroyed or disposed of. I may well have missed a few items that are now in your possession but, at this point, if you don’t have it, it is gone. Ditto for your sex toys and smutty magazines.”
Hard To Defend Themselves
When the transcript of the email was presented in court it became very clear that Mr. and Mrs. Werking were going to have to pay up. The father is literally admitting that he went ahead and disposed of the porn collection. From another part of the email, we got a sense of just how massive the porn collection was. Mr. Werking told his son,
“We counted twelve moving boxes full of pornography plus two boxes of ‘sex toys’ as you call them. We began that day the process of destroying them and it took quite a while to do so.”
What They Are Being Ordered To Pay

As we mentioned, David Werking had valued his collection at around 29k. Ultimately, he’s being awarded $30,441 by the court, with his parents also being ordered to pay around 14k to cover their son’s legal expenses. It was really the emails that did them in the end. They could’ve blamed it on the moving company or something. In being so direct about destroying their son’s porn collection now they’re going to have to deal with some hefty bills. On the other hand, David’s pretty much burned a huge bridge. His parents took him in after getting divorced in his 40s. Suing them over porn isn’t necessarily the gracious thing to do.
