Tom Cruise Gets Luggage Stolen In Hi-Tech Car Heist

The most ironic thing happened to Tom Cruise while in the U.K. filming Mission Impossible. Some real-life hackers literally stole the car that he was being driven around in. Then proceeded to take all of Cruise's belongings from the car, which they later abandoned. They did all of this under the noses of Tom's security team. Since the action star is naturally not happy with what went down. We are having a hard time not giving props to these thieves. They really knew what they were doing.

These folks were on a mission. As we mentioned, we're having a hard time not being in awe of what they did. Tom Cruise was being driven around in BMW X7 in his time filming in Birmingham. This is something that the thieves potentially knew all too well. They were able to craft a hacking device that allowed them to trick the car into thinking they had the key of the push start car. Essentially they just got in and drove off!

As we mentioned, the car was ultimately found a few hours after the incident. However, the luggage that was in the car which belonged to Cruise was nowhere to be found when the vehicle was recovered. Local media is reporting that thousands of pounds worth of clothes were in Cruise's bags. A source confirmed the theft to The Sun, saying,

"Tom had been driven around in the car while in Birmingham and some of his ­luggage and belongings were inside it when it was taken,”

These guys who robbed Tom Cruise must have seen plenty of his movies! Thanks to a tracking device that comes standard with that type of car the police were able to locate the vehicle at a hotel that was about a 2-minute walk from a police station. When they arrived, there was no one in the car, and the luggage and everything that Tom had inside the car was gone. A source told the Sun,

"It’s since been recovered by police because it was equipped with an electronic tracking device but everything inside it had gone,”

The whole ordeal was a total embarrassment for the security team that has been working with Cruise in his time in the U.K. At the moment, there has been no official word as to whether or not Cruise has fired anyone on his staff. What we do know is that he is not happy at all! If those scenes of Cruise yelling at the staff for not wearing masks are any indication, he's got a temper on him. The source from the Sun concluded the interview saying,

"It’s a huge embarrassment for the security team, and the guy who had been driving it was hopping mad — but not as mad as Tom!”
