In a video, posted by Gaines on Instagram — he is seen putting together his long hair into ponytails as his wife begins to chop it all off! “I’ve never seen it this clean,” she says.
“And just like that… it’s gone!” Chip captioned the video. “All worth it if it means more kids at (St. Jude) get taken care of. So we’re going to keep this thing going till midnight…Tap this video to donate. Hey, my hair is on its way to you!” he added. “Tomorrow’s the big day. Let’s do something good together for an organization that is doing good for these beautiful children. Tap the video to donate to (St. Jude.)”
Following the chop job, Magnolia released shocking photos of the reality star with his entire head shaved. Let’s just say he looks like an entirely different person! After the job was completed, the hair is gathered up by the non-profit organization — ‘Children With Hair Loss’ — which takes the human hair and creates a wig for a person in need.
Chip Gaines Minus The Long Blonde Locks!

A spokesperson for the charity commended the reality star for his commitment to helping children, saying, “Chip and Joanna Gaines have provided an incredible amount of love, kindness, and support to the kids at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital over the years. From a stunning new dining room for patient families staying at St. Jude Target House to a garden playhouse for St. Jude patients to play in — their creativity is matched by their generosity.”
He continued, “We’re thankful for Chip and his generous fans, whose giving determined his bold new look.”
Chip Gaines previously opened up about growing out his hair during an interview with ‘The Today Show’ where he discussed the launch of the couple’s Magnolia Network. “It’s like the rest of the country, sadly, in some ways, you know? Nobody can agree on anything. You’re either in this camp or this camp,” he joked about his long hair. Adding, “Well, Twitter is very similar in that regard with my hair: It’s either you love this, or you hate it.”

He continued, “I like to continue to bring in bucket lister-type situations in my life. And I was like, when I die I’m going to say, ‘You remember that season when I had that long hair?’ And when I’m bald as a bat here in a couple of months after we shave it, literally razor blade bald, then I’ll say, ‘I’ve never been bald before!'”
