According to new legal documents, obtained by The Blast, Nipsey’s brother is asking a judge to appoint several of the famous rapper’s family members as guardians of his daughter’s estate. In the filing, Samiel Asghedom points out the petitioners are Emani’s paternal uncle, aunt, and grandmother. Plus, they have had physical custody of the 10-year-old since the passing of her father.
In the filing, Sam says the assets in Nipsey’s estate are approximately $4 million, which includes real property and annual gross income. “The assets of Ermias’ Probate estate are approximately $4,062,439.34 ($4,169,088.57 per inventory and appraisal, less $106,649.23 in creditor’s claims)” the document states.
Nipsey Hussle’s Children Will Split $4 Million A Year From Father’s Estate
The family says Nipsey’s royalties and income based on his business have an “anticipated annual income of $4,700,000.00.” According to the documents, Emani is entitled to receive approximately half of that yearly money. It’s not in the filing, but we are guessing the other $2 million will go to Nip’s son, Kross, who he shares with Lauren London.
The reason the family is asking the court to appoint them executors of Emani’s estate is to “allow them to invest Emani’s share of the expected inheritance from her father’s estate. It continued, the family “will manage Emani’s assets prudently and in (her) best interests until she reaches 18 years old.” In other words, the family would like to help the 10-year-old invest her money wisely to set her up for life.
Nipsey Hussle’s Family Asking To Help Invest His Daughter’s Wealth
As we reported, Nipsey’s brother filed inventory and appraisal on his late brother’s estate and it is worth millions. Besides the property and cash in the bank, the items listed are 14K gold necklaces valued at almost $100,000 — and pair of 18K gold earrings worth $12,000, two Rolex watches valued at $21,500, a 14K yellow gold with a princess cut diamond valued at $4,700, and a 14K gold charm worth $13,000.
Obviously, the largest asset is Nipsey’s property and music royalties.
As you know, Nipsey Hussle was shot outside of his clothing store — Marathon — in South Los Angeles. The rapper died after being rushed to the hospital suffering from a gunshot wound to the head. A person has been arrested and charged with the murder and is currently being held in L.A. County jail.
Nipsey’s older brother broke his silence following the tragic death, saying, “He was somebody that believed in the process of hard work, determination and just the positivity of somebody staying in the area that he grew up in and making something out of nothing. He was a role model to the community, to the kids, and to the mothers and the grandmothers and the community that watched him grow up and seen him as a youngster, [and now] a family man, a father, raising his kids.”
In the interview, Sam pointed out that he wanted to continue his brother’s entrepreneurial spirit — including involving his children — after his passing. “You know, at the end of the day, he’s the one who actually made me have something legitimate to be able to attach myself to. It’s hard that he was killed, man. It’s hard,” he concluded.
The decision is now up to a judge.
