Kim Kardashian is NOT dropping the 'West' from her last name following her divorce from Kanye West, and the explanation actually makes a lot of sense.
The 'Keeping Up With The Kardashians' star is not following in her ex-husband's footsteps by changing her last name, or her first name for that matter. According to reports, Kim is going to keep her name as it is 'Kim Kardashian West' -- because she feels it is important to keep the same last name as her four children, North, Saint, Chicago, and Psalm.
The famous ex-couple is also not changing the last names of their children.
Kim Kardashian Keeping The Family Name Going!
We broke the story, Kanye West filed legal documents to change his birth name "Kanye Omari West" to just simply, 'YE.' Interestingly, that means Kim Kardashian and her children are retaining the West name even though the one who bought it into the family is dropping it. Also, many believed Kardashian would be returning her legal name to 'Kim Kardashian' following the divorce. In many cases, a wife will legally return their name back to its original form following the split -- especially when you are as famous as she is...
'KUWTK' Star Fully Supports Kanye's Decision To Become 'YE'
It should be noted, Kardashian reportedly fully supports Kanye's decision to go just as "YE" -- simply because he has been known by that moniker for years. Friends and family of the famous rapper have been calling him by that name for years. It is a very similar situation to Diddy, who was known as Puff Daddy for many years. His legal name is Sean Combs, but most of his friends called him Diddy. As we reported, Diddy filed legal documents to change his middle name to "Love."
Kim Kardashian is also very supportive of Kanye's new album -- and the listening parties -- and has shown up with the couple's four children to all of the events. In several cases, she was decked out in specific outfits that matched Kanye's overall theme. The famous duo is still going through with their divorce and is currently hashing out the property and financial split.
According to recent reports, the 'Donda' listening parties are making the rapper a ton of money, and the album hasn't even dropped yet. Kanye is packing stadiums full of 40,000 strong, and as you can imagine, the fans are not only paying a bundle to be there...they are dropping big bucks on merchandise.
Kanye's Kids Will Carry The 'West' Tradition
Several outlets are reporting that West brought in over $7 million in sale for 'Donda' merchandise at the Mercedes Benz stadium event alone. The rapper is hosting another listening party this weekend and should see those numbers skyrocket again.
Although the country is currently going through a rise in COVID-19 outbreaks, Kanye's event is actually offering to vaccinate people who attend the listening party. As we reported, Chicago's Soldier Field is offering 1,500 vaccinations for fans attending the big event. Unfortunately, only a few of the fans took the opportunity at Mercedes Benz stadium -- 4 out of 40,000 -- the city hopes this event will be different. It should be noted, Kanye is not forcing anyone to show a negative Coronavirus test before entering the arena, nor is he making them show proof of vaccination.
