Christy Carlson Romano Reveals She Was Never Friends With Shia LaBeouf

Former Disney stars always seem to have the steepest falls from grace, for some reason. One of the notable former Disney stars that went off the rails is actor Shia LaBeouf. He’s been dealing with anger management issues for years now. Recently his former co-star on the Disney Channel show, Even Stevens, where LaBeouf became a household name, is saying that he was a bit of an oddball even back then. Still, Christy Carlson Romano was salty about LaBeouf’s success and her stagnant career after the show!
Still Looking Back On The Past
Christy Carlson Romano has had a very extensive career in show business. She started acting professionally in 1996. It was in 2000 though when she landed her breakout role as Ren Stevens alongside Shia LaBeouf. From there, she had success voicing Kim Possible in the animated series of the same name. Life post-Disney hasn’t been so great, though. That may just be why as she’s looking to get more followers on her YouTube channel she has to talk about the old days when she worked with LaBeouf.
We Weren’t Friends
Carlson Romano starts off the video by saying that a lot of people ask her questions about her time working with LaBeouf. Mainly wanting to know if the two still catch up from time to time. According to her, the relationship she had with LaBeouf though couldn’t really be considered a friendship. She mentions,
"To be honest, I don't even really know if we were ever really friends, but we were coworkers. We had this sort of, like, very good onscreen chemistry."
The Snub At The Emmy’s
She also revealed that she was not only a bit jealous about the success that LaBeouf had after the show. There was also a moment at the Emmys when LaBeouf failed to recognize her contribution. That really rubbed her off the wrong. You know that you really don’t like someone when you can remember something that they did to you in 2003! On the incident, she remembers,
"Something that actually really hurt my feelings was when he won his Emmy award, and he was on the podium. I was sitting there with the rest of our team and he thanked everybody at the table but he didn't thank me,"

When Shia LaBeouf started to have success and her career didn’t take off that well Carlson Romano was not pleased. To this day she wonders why her career wasn’t able to reach the same heights that LaBeouf’s did. In the video, she blames her former managers for not being able to book great gigs for her.
Although LaBeouf’s career certainly outshone hers, there may be one thing that she can hand her hat on. LaBeouf ultimately has sabotaged his own career through his questionable actions. Therefore, both of them are pretty much equally relevant in show business these days!
