OnlyFans is regretting a major decision they made less than one week ago. The subscriber based platform which grants subs access to salacious and explicit content from their favorite celebrities and creators is reversing its ban on pornographic content.
On August 20, The Blast reported the platform would be banning any pornographic/sexually explicit content from the platform effective October 1, 2021.
The popular app said in a statement to Variety is making changes “to comply with the requests of our banking partners and payout providers.”
Their statement continued, “OnlyFans will prohibit the posting of any content containing sexually explicit conduct. In order to ensure the long-term sustainability of the platform, and to continue to host an inclusive community of creators and fans, we must evolve our content guidelines.”

Per Variety, “According to OnlyFans, creators will continue to be allowed to post content containing nudity as long as it is consistent with our Acceptable Use Policy.”
This news did not sit well with content creators, subscribers and the public. In fact it caused so much backlash that ‘OF’ is now reversing it’s ban.
In a tweet issued on Wednesday, August 25, the platform said, “Thank you to everyone for making your voices hear. We have secured assurances necessary to support our diverse creator community and have suspended the planned October 1 policy change.”

“OnlyFans stands for inclusion and we will continue to provide a home for all creators,” the statement continued. “An official communication to creators will be emailed shortly.
Many content creators replied to their statement claiming they lost hundreds of subscribers overnight.
Many creators on the platform have made this their full-time career, and when celebrities like Bella Thorne joined the and made over $1 million in 24-hours, many of the day-one creators were absolutely PISSED!
One of the first record breakers on OnlyFans!
One woman responded, “OF, I lost my teaching job when I signed up to your site to help take care of my family. Since June, I put all of my eggs in your basket. I’m 50 and can’t keep starting over. Stand by us!”
Another creator on the platform said, “I call for a reduce in fees for all of us who have been affected by this. I’ve lost over 150 subscribers overnight but I’m still paying you the full 20% of my earnings?”
It’s unclear whether or not the pornography ban reversal is temporary or permanent. In a statement to Buzzfeed OnlyFans said, “The proposed October 1, 2021 changes are no longer required due to banking partners' assurances that OnlyFans can support all genres of creators.”
Bhad Bhabie recently said she could RETIRE at 18 because of all the money she has made on OnlyFans.
