Tom Cruise Landed a Helicopter On Some Family's Lawn

Have you ever imagined Tom Cruise landing a helicopter in your backyard and then offering you a ride? For this British family, the dream literally came true. The arrival wasn’t as unannounced as they may be dreamed of, but still, they had an awesome experience. Alison Webb whose family lives in the British countryside says that a group of staff members from a nearby production knocked on their door and asked if their field could be used for a helicopter landing. Little did they know that conversation was going to spark an experience that they would remember for the rest of their lives!      

Webb recalls that a couple of people came over to her family home and made the odd request. At the time, the local airport had been shut down. The folks whom they later found out were part of the production staff on the new Mission Impossible movie asked them if a helicopter for an unnamed VIP could land on their property. The family was gracious enough to lend their land to these folks. They were compensated quite nicely for their gracious deed!   

The helicopter lands, and it happens to be carrying none other than Tom Cruise! Alison Webb the owner of the property recalls that she accepted the landing because, 

"I thought it would be kind of cool for the kids to see the helicopter land in the garden," When Cruise landed she remembers thinking, “He [Cruise] basically arrived and got out and it was like 'Wow.'"

The family had a full-on experience. As Cruise didn’t just get off the helicopter and runoff.

According to Webb Cruise got off the helicopter and proceeded to head straight towards them to exchange a few words. She remembers that Cruise went first to her kids, who were potentially in awe of seeing his grand entrance. He then turned to the adults to thank them. As a show of gratitude, Cruise even let the kids go up on the helicopter! Webb said of the whole experience, 

"He went straight over to the children for a chat, then came over and elbow bumped us and said thank you very much, Then he said if the kids would like they could go up in the helicopter."

Tom Cruise has now been in the UK for a while. He certainly has become, “the local celeb” in the countryside where he is currently filming. He’s also taken advantage of his trip to attend some of the most high-profile events that took place in London this summer. As he was spotted looking fresh at Wimbledon. Then stealing the spotlight from Prince William at the Euro Cup finals that same day! That awesome landing is certainly one that Alison Webb and her family are never going to forget!
