Are Reese Witherspoon and Husband, Jim Toth, Headed for a Split?

Reese Witherspoon is an incredible and talented actress, who who has been married to talent agent, Jim Toth. Over the years, the actress has received several accolades including two Golden Globes, an Academy Award, Emmy, and so on.

In 2016, the "Cruel Intentions" actress founded a company with her partner and husband, Toth, and named it Hello Sunshine. The duo seemed to be doing fine in their respective lives, but fans woke up to a shocking news this morning, August, 23, 2021.

According to OK! the actress is heavily considering divorcing her husband, for unspecified reasons. Although this statement is still conjecture now, the media outlet noted that a source close to the couple revealed the pair have been more of business partners since 2016, than a couple. Although the unnamed source wasn't able to pinpoint the exact reason why the actress might be considering a divorce, the thought of what could have gone wrong, has been lingering in the hearts of her fans.

One thing is clear at this point, Witherspoon is in the process of selling off her company that she has worked so hard on for almost five years.

OK! reported that there has been problems in Witherspoon's marriage since she kicked off her partnership with Roth. The insider said; "For Reese to float the idea of selling the business, came as a real shock, given how hard she’s worked to build it." The magazine went on to reveal that Witherspoon and Toth completed the sale of their shares in the company for a whooping $900, million. It also mentioned that if either party decides to get divorced, which is not yet a certainty, they will be walking away with a 'huge pile of cash.'

Is there any truth to this report that Witherspoon and Toth's aim of selling their company, was to be able to proceed with divorce plans? Not true. Apparently, the tabloid failed to include specific explanations in its report.

Witherspoon did not give up total ownership of the company through the sale, the actress still holds an 18% stake in the company. Reports also confirmed that she still holds an important role on the board alongside Hello Sunshine CEO Sarah Harden.

Witherspoon was quite elated with the sale she concluded recently, as she posted about the huge victory on her Instagram page. From the look of things, it was clear to everyone that the actress was simply excited about her win, and there was no indication that her marriage is about to hit the rocks.

Firstly, she noted her excitement for the coming future, and used the pronoun 'us' in her statement. This definitely means that there are future plans in store for both Witherspoon and Roth, despite what a source revealed to OK!

"... I am committed to continuing to create opportunities for filmmakers, authors and creators of all backgrounds and experiences to tell their stories in their own way, and reach more audiences who will see that their stories matter," she wrote. It is clear that Witherspoon only saw this sale as an opportunity to move her dream and projects forward.

Witherspoon and Roth have lived a low-key life, since their wedding in 2011. A year after their awesome union, the pair welcomed their first son named Tennessee James Toth. Despite living private lives, they often showed incredible aspects of their lives online, that millions of fans worldwide love and adore.

The American actress once gave an account of her first impression of Toth, as she recalled that he intervened in a situation where his drunk friend was trying to 'hit on her.' If you can imagine that.

According to her, Toth pulled his friend away, who was already starting to freak her out. She said this of him; "... That's just who he is. He's a good man."

The multi-award-winning actress celebrated their 10th wedding anniversary in March, when she shared a series of photos on her Instagram stories. In the post, she gushed about her man saying; "11 years ago … I met this amazing guy, 10 years ago Today We got married! Here’s to many more days of happiness & laughter! I love you JT!"

So, is it true Witherspoon and Toth were near divorce? Of course not. Aside from the word of an unnamed insider, the tabloid provided, there’s no evidence that Witherspoon and Toth were ever even struggling in their relationship.

Also, it’s not the first time Witherspoon and Toth’s marriage was rumoured to be falling apart.

The couple who have been married for a decade, were subjected to the same speculation in the past, yet, all the claims proved to be false. Moreover, the pair's fans no longer take the rumors seriously.

Forbes recently announced that the actress is now the world’s richest actress, worth $400 million, which was estimated after the news of her sale of shares in Hello Sunshine. This ultimately shuts down the notion that the actress needs money because she is about to get divorced.
