Just when the world thought the Kanye West drama was done with, the rapper unearths another shocking controversy online. Around midnight on August 23, 2021, the recently divorced musician took to his Twitter page to disclose Drake’s Toronto home address on a map.
This comes after his Kris Jong Un’ fiasco the previous year when he referred to his mother-in-law as “Kris Jong Un” in a series of now-deleted posts. It seems as if Kanye is still trying to come at his fellow superstars using every social media means possible.
Although the rapper quickly deleted the post later, but not before fans started slamming him for his insensitive and dangerous behavior. Fans have shown signs of indignation at Kanye’s action even though his usual dramatic behavior is not new. They are worried about the safety of the former Young Money label artist now that his address has been thrown in the open. What does West have to say about his actions? Probably that he did nothing wrong.

How Did They Get Here?
At some point in the past, Drake and Kanye seemed destined to be buddies. This could be seen when Drake freestyled “Barry Bonds” which was one of Kanye’s album tracks. Drake freestyled this song in one of his first mixtapes, 2007’s Comeback Season.
He later told MTV, “Kanye West shaped a lot of what I do… I’d even go as far as to say he’s the most influential person as far as a musician that I’d ever had in my life.” Kanye went on to repay the favor, by commending Drake’s lyrics on his blog KanyeUniverseCity.com, and directing the video for 2009’s “Best I Ever Had.”
This sparked further collaborations between them on tracks like Forever” and “Find Your Love,” and Kanye said Drake’s dominance of the rap game inspired him to make a joint album with Jay-Z, hoping to raise the stakes for other rappers.

“Me and Jay-Z would’ve never made Watch the Throne if Drake wasn’t putting pressure on us like that, so I just wanna pay my respects,” Kanye said on Radio.
However, things went downhill in 2018, when Kanye got into the middle of a dispute between Drake and another rapper Pusha T. The latter has been Drake’s longtime rival since he gained stardom. Kanye produced “Infrared,” Pusha T’s song, on which the rapper insinuated that Drake uses a ghostwriter for all his lyrics, triggering a quick succession of diss tracks and social media jabs.

Pusha went on to further trigger Drake by exposing his affair with former porn star Sophie Brussaux, who has a child for the rapper. Drake confirmed the rumor on his album Scorpion, but accused Kanye of being the one who revealed the secret about his child to Pusha. Both Kanye and Pusha denied the accusation.
More Drama In 2018
In December 2018, after much back and forth from both rappers, Kanye hit back at Drake in a series of tweets and Travis Scott, another famous rapper, was the grass the huge elephants trampled upon.
Kanye accused Scott of allowing Drake to make ‘sneak disses’ at him in the track “Sicko Mode,” and even implied that Scott had threatened him over the phone.
“How you gonna be on Travis song coming at me. Trav should have never allowed that” West said “I used to bring Travis with me everywhere with me,” he continued. “I’m an inspiration to both him and Drake… Trav is my family and lets this met throw sneak disses at me for clout,” he tweeted next.
Feudal Behaviour
Kanye has always started a feud with someone whenever he goes through a strange phase in his life.
He even lashed out at Kim Kardashian West, his now estranged wife, whom the gossip mill rumored to be dating Van Jones, the political commentator, and lawyer while they were separated, but all of that was is too puzzling to get into at this moment.

The beef between the rappers is still burning hot and Drake’s verse on Trippie Red’s new drop “Betrayal” did not douse the flame. Kanye commented on one of Drake’s disses in a group chat, by adding Drake’s rival Pusha T to it.
“I live for this. I’ve been f**ed with by a nerd, and jock n**s like you my whole life. You will never recover. I promise you.”
He posted the screenshot of the chat on his Instagram page, but quickly deleted it a short while later. Unfortunately for him, many of his fans had already screen grabbed the post right before it vanished.
Back To The Issue
Even though Drake’s address is an open secret, doxing culture is a “big no” in the music industry.
His bad behavior should not be tolerated, rather, it should be admonished as compromising the safety of anyone, not just a public figure, is dangerous, and could lead to several mishaps.
Kanye should remember that deleting his post is not enough, as the internet never forgets. Screenshots of the post already exist on the social media space as several internet users keep posting mocking tweets, GIFs, and memes making light of the grave situation.
