Addison Rae and Emma Chamberlain are getting intense backlash after snagging an invite to this year’s MET Gala.
The biggest night in fashion is set to take place on September 13 after being canceled in 2020 due to the Coronavirus pandemic.
The MET Gala is known for introducing the world to some of the most ICONIC outfits to ever grace a runway.
This year’s theme is ‘American Fashion,’ and celebrities lucky enough to get the invite from Anna Wintour will rock what they and their designated designers deem to be the fashion of America.

In year’s past fans of the fundraising event have seen Lady Gaga do five outfit changes in a matter of minutes ending up in a black bra, booty shorts and fishnet stockings.
She wants your stupid love!
Harry Styles is always a fan favorite on the carpet, and has been praised for breaking down gender norms.
We see you pearl earring!
However, this year many agencies and PR companies are PO-d about the guest list which includes a handful of influencers.
Insiders have tipped off the media with reports that some A-listers’ seats will be filled by TikTok stars and influencers this year.
According to celebrity gossip Instagram account, Deuxmoi, an anonymous user sent in a tip that alleged both Addison and Emma will be in attendance at the 2021 MET Gala.

Just a quick refresher, influencers like James Charles and Liza Koshy have both attended the MET ball in years past. Koshy even hosted Vogue’s live from the red-carpet interviews.
These influencers were met with harsh backlash from critics, who felt that the YouTubers weren’t famous enough to earn a spot at the prestigious event.
These are all just “tips” and “rumors” at this point, because the MET does not reveal its official list of guests prior to the event.
A celebrity agent told PageSix that a slew of other influencers are purportedly attending, which seems to track with the fact that Instagram and Facebook are sponsoring the Gala.
Many upset fans took to Twitter to express their discontent for the alleged guest list.
One person wrote, “I’m just going to say it, no one wants to see Addison Rae at the met gala.

Another fan tweeted, “Addison Rae on the same list as Beyonce, Jlo, Blake and Gaga is the most offensive thing I’ve seen.”
This fan took aim at Emma writing, “And Emma Chamberlain omg that’s so embarrassing. Met gala really isn’t what is used to be anymore.”
On the flip side, some people were fiercely defending the YouTuber.
“Not yall insulting Emma Chamberlain being invited to the met gala, she literally is aa fashion influencer that sets most of the trends. If anyone should be there it should be her,” on fan wrote.
Neither Emma nor Addison have spoken out about their rumored invites.
Other rumored attendees include Rihanna, Jennifer Lopez, Pete Davidson, Sza, and Lil Uzi.
