Miranda Kerr and English actor, Orlando Bloom have been divorced since 2013, but the Australian model recently opened up on how her son reacted to the split, and how he comforted her through the gruesome journey.

She noted that her son, Flynn who was barely two years old at the time of the split was always protective of her. Despite his young age, Kerr noted that her now nine-year-old son never felt shy about expressing himself, and even as the separation went on, he tried to protect her the best way he could.

"Daddy don't look at mummy like that," Kerr said her son would exclaim to his dad.

Again, the model mentioned that the way her son's behavior during the separation, made her believe that divorce was not the best way to go. But things did not get better between her and Bloom, which ultimately resulted in their divorce. In the long run, the Aussie model said she figured out that ending the marriage was going to do more good for her son, and that was all she could ever concern herself with.

The pair revealed in 2013 that they were separated for months, and had every intention of annulling their marriage. The divorce was finalized at the end of the same year.

Miranda Kerr Made An Important Choice

For many married couples, divorce is either frowned on, or becomes an essential choice to bring about peace amongst the parties involved. Kerr opened up about her decision to end her marriage— stating that it was all for the sake of her son.

She further explained this comment when she noted that 'it is better for a couple to be separated, than try to force their marriage, and live unhappily together. While both instances have their bad sides, it's clear that unhappy parents cannot be available emotionally for their kids, thereby leading to a host of problems in the future.

So, to save her son from the hurt of having to see his parents bicker at one another, or live in a loveless marriage, she and Bloom decided that it was best to end the marriage, and focus on keeping their kid safe.

"Two happy parents who are separated are better than two unhappy parents together," she fessed.

Moving On

A year after her split from Bloom, the 38-year-old disclosed her relationship with billionaire and Snapchat founder and CEO, Evan Spiegel. The duo were engaged in 2016 and got married in May 2017.

For her beautiful wedding, Kerr spotted a Grace Kelly-inspired Dior dress, that was styled by Maria Grazia Chiuri. In May 2018, the model announced the arrival of her second child, and Spiegel's first. Again, in October 2019, the couple welcomed another baby.

On the other hand, Bloom started dating "Unconditionally" singer, Katy Perry almost a year after his divorce from Kerr. Sadly, in 2017, the pair announced their split, but gave no official reason for it, despite the rumors on social media.

To everyone's surprise, the duo revealed that they had resumed their relationship in February 2018. A year later, in the same month, the duo got engaged, which was followed by an announcement via the singer's music "Never Won White," which revealed that they were expecting their first child together. On August 26, 2020, Perry gave birth to a daughter named Daisy Dove Bloom.

Miranda Kerr's Message To Her Ex-Husband

A few months after the birth of her daughter, Perry revealed via her Twitter page that she intends to resume her duties as a judge on "American Idol," and this received high praises from her fans and friends online.

As the music talent show got ready to film its new season, the "Roar" singer was eager to get back to one of the things she loved the most in her professional life.

Speaking of friends, Kerr, who was once married to the singer's present partner reached out with a warm and supportive message when Perry disclosed that she wants to resume work as soon as possible after welcoming her daughter.

In response to her Tweet, Kerr wrote; "Omg you're amazing! Love you." This comment attracted over 2k likes and hundreds of replies from fans who applauded her for being supportive of another mother, who's also her good friend.

Miranda Kerr: Her life & Career

Miranda Kerr is a businesswoman and Australian model, who came into prominence in 2007 as the first Australian model for Victoria's Secret. During her time with the agency, she also represented the Australian department store chain named David Jones.

Prior to this, Kerr kicked off her modelling career at age 16 with Dolly magazine, after she won the company's model search competition.

The model has been listed severally on Forbes list of Highest Paid Models. Kerr also started a personal organic skincare line called KORA Organics, that comes with a self-help book that guides users on how to go about using the products to get the best skin glow.

The now 38-year-old is a mother-of-three is still progressing in her modelling career, as she still has a lot to give to the industry. Ed Razek once said that she has "the smile of an angel and the body of a devil."
