Nicole Kidman, popularly known as Nic to her fanbase, is an America-Australian actress, who has gained love and respect from millions of fans worldwide since she came into the acting profession in 1983 at age 16.

Recently, the actress opened up about how the filming process of her new series titled "Nine Perfect Strangers" took its toll on her, especially due to the area she and her team were filming in. In addition, the actress who is starring in the new Hulu limited series, said it almost got cancelled due to a number of reasons, and this put her in a difficult state of mind.

Speaking to The Sunday Telegraph recently, Kidman fessed that filming was banned in the U.S. in 2020, due to the vast COVID-19 outbreak, so the production team had to reschedule a lot of things, which wasn't easy for her. The 54-year-old told the publication that she made the decision to move with her crew to film all the way to Australia, which was another difficult process to go through.

The Hassle Of Filming

Filming all the way in Australia was quite difficult not only for Kidman, but the crew, who had to move equipments all the way, and figure out how to live in a whole new environment. Nevertheless, the actress and her crew earned the support of the Australian government, and were back on track in no time.

"It was a hustle. We were fully supported by all of the actors and the government and we were able to still get the show made instead of having to shut it down, which was the other possibility," she said.

Filming during the pandemic posed a major setback for directors, producers, camera and sound crew, as well as the actors directly involved in the filming process. All participants had to be kept safe all the time because there was no way to avoid contact with one another, and the virus could easily spread at will.

Although Kidman was faced with this extremely difficult task, she figured out a way around it, and her new series was done in no time.

Nicole Kidman Took Strict Measures

One of the ways that Kidman saw to make sure that moving all the way to Australia would not be in vain, was to make sure that everyone involved with the production of the series took extreme caution with whatever they had to do, or wherever they had to go.

Another important task that the producers saw to, was that all the members of the crew, including the actors, had to be tested for COVID-19 regularly. Though she did not mention how often they tested, her explanation was enough to conclude that they got tested as regularly as possible to avoid disruptions.

Getting every member of the crew, including Kidman, to stay healthy and not pass the virus to other healthy members, was a major hassle, but Kidman's determination to be done with the series helped her see it through.

After Kidman's team lost the right to film in the U.S., they had to travel a long distance, and the only way to make sure that the decision was worth it in the end, was to say atop the situation always.

Nicole Kidman's Second Challenge

The decision to travel to Australia for filming, was not the only difficult thing that Kidman experienced between 2020 and 2021.

The actress told The Sunday Telegraph that on getting to Australia, there was another problem that she had to deal with immediately. The acting crew was complete, and everyone was set to get busy, but there was no venue that they could use.

Kidman noted that it took a while before they could find the perfect area for the series, because there were a lot of things to consider. It was mostly difficult to get a location because despite the Australian government giving her permission to film in the country, there were also some strict pandemic guidelines to follow.

After searching the nooks and cranny of the country, Kidman finally found the perfect area to start filming, which was Byron Bay.

"We hadn't really finalised the location so we were still kind of trying to find the right spot and we couldn't find it. And then suddenly the possibility of shooting in Byron Bay became available," she said.

About 'Nine Perfect Strangers'

This American drama miniseries is based on a 2018 novel by Liane Moriarty is set to be released by Hulu on August 18, 2021.

It centers on nine strangers from the city, who conveyed at the health and wellness resort, the Tranquillum House, for a 10-day retreat. The participants were promised full transformation and healing during their time there, but unknown to them, the resort is not all it seems.

The guests were soon exposed to the realities of the environment they found themselves in, and personal secrets about each other, as well as the resort's host named Masha. Other actors starring in this series include; Melissa McCarthy, Manny Jacinto, Asher Keddie, Luke Evans, Melvin Gregg, Samara Weaving, Grace Van Patten, Tiffany Boone, Michael Shannon, Regina Hall, and Bobby Cannavale.
