The ‘Powerpuff Girls’ reboot, "Powerpuff," is missing the sugar to its “sugar, spice and everything nice” recipe.
Chloe Bennet, who was set to portray Blossom in the live-action remake, has exited the show.
This news comes after the remake faced a number of discouraging setbacks.
One major setback being production on the pilot coming to an abrupt halt.

In May, news surfaced that the pilot script leaked and it received less than stellar reviews.
“Powerpuff” is set to follow the adult versions of the beloved female crime fighters: Blossom, Bubbles and Buttercup.
Following the leak, it was apparent their ‘grown-up’ conversations were going to be a far cry from ‘everything nice,’ but there was definitely some SPICE!
Some of the dialogue between the characters was highly sexual in nature and included topics such as revenge porn.
Fans were clearly upset by it, and the CEO of the CW, Mark Pedowitz, pulled the pilot for a complete redo.
In a statement released hours after the leak Pedowitz said, “The reason we do pilots is, sometimes things miss. We believe in the cast and in [writers Diablo Cody and Heather Regnier] and [executive producer Greg Berlanti] and studio Warner Bros. In this case, the pilot didn’t work.”
Well, there’s something else not working out… the series has lost its Blossom.
According to Variety, Bennet is unable to fulfill her Powerpuff duties due to scheduling conflicts.

A source with knowledge of the situation revealed studio Warner Bros. Television wanted to extend her option as they reworked the pilot, but scheduling conflicts forced her to exit instead. Casting to fill her role will begin in the fall per Variety.
Dove Cameron, who is set to play Bubbles, and Yana Perrault, who will portray Buttercup, are both still attached to the show.
In addition, “Scrubs” actor Donald Faison is still slated to take on the role of Professor Drake Utonium.

Cameron did a number of interviews after the news of a reboot reshoot would be taking place, and expressed that she was not discouraged by the network’s decision.
She noted that it’s not abnormal to reshoot a pilot.
"We shot an entire pilot. It's pretty great. We like it. We think we can do better and we have the time and we're going to go back and get it pitch-perfect so that, by the time we actually go to series, we're shooting something and working off of something that we can hopefully work off of for years," Cameron told E! News.
